Check out these mind-blowing facts about the animal kingdom’s most underrated clean-up crew:
💪 Ultimate Strength: The bull-headed dung beetle can pull 1,141 times its own body weight. That is the equivalent of an average human pulling six double-decker buses!

Here are five unusual and fascinating facts about giraffes:

They have the same number of neck bones as humans.
Despite having necks that can reach over 2 metres (6.5 feet) long, giraffes have only seven cervical vertebrae—the same number as humans. Each vertebra is simply much larger, often over 25 cm (10 inches) long.
Their tongues are incredibly long—and dark blue or purple.
A giraffe's tongue can grow to about 45–50 cm (18–20 inches). Its dark colour is thought to help protect it from sunburn while the animal spends hours pulling leaves from tall trees.
They barely sleep.
Giraffes are among the mammals that sleep the least. Wild giraffes often sleep for only 30 minutes to 2 hours per day, usually in very short naps lasting just a few minutes.
They can clean their own ears with their tongues.
Thanks to their exceptionally long, flexible tongues, giraffes can reach inside their own ears to help remove dirt and insects.
Their spots are as unique as fingerprints.
No two giraffes have the exact same spot pattern. Scientists can even identify individual giraffes by photographing and comparing their distinctive markings, much like facial recognition.

Bonus fact: A giraffe's heart is a powerhouse. It weighs around 11 kg (25 pounds) and generates extremely high blood pressure—roughly twice that of a healthy human—to pump blood all the way up its long neck to its brain. Special valves in its blood vessels help prevent it from fainting when it lowers its head to drink.

Magalies Sleepy River Caravan Park - what a beautiful place. We loved the open space - plus they have everything you need to enjoy your stay - swimming pool, river walks, ablutions, on site shop and Hennie's amazing pizzas on Fridays and Saturdays! They were delish..
So much to see and do in the surroundung area as well.
Very friendly and helpful owners and helpers. Hennie & Marie - we will be back!
