Police in Delmas in Mpumalanga arrested a 43-year-old man for possession of illicit ci******es in Sundra on 05 December 2025 at about 22:00.

Police in Delmas, with the assistance of members of the Sundra Police Station and security companies, followed up on information regarding illicit ci******es that were being transported in water tanks.

Police spotted a truck with two trailers in Sundra and stopped it. The load consisted of twelve 5 000-liter water tanks. Upon further investigation, members found that the tanks were stocked, to capacity, with different brands of cartons of illicit ci******es. Police recovered 25 pallets of illicit ci******es with an estimated street value worth R17,4 million.

The suspect from the Kingdom of Eswatini was placed under arrest for possession of illicit goods, and is expected to appear before the Delmas District Court on Monday, 08 December 2025.
