The Royal Geographical Society Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group (GFGRG) would like to reach out and make contact with other groups working in geography, the built environment, urban etc spaces on feminist and related issues both in the UK and internationally. The idea would be to bring groups together with similar interests so we can share resources, ensure that we don’t duplicate work, events, and ideas and most importantly, find ways to support each other.

Hi everyone, the Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group (GFGRG) of the RGS-IBG prize for best undergraduate dissertation competition is now open and accepting entries for the best UK University based undergraduate dissertation on any issue relating to geographies, feminisms and gender.

First prize is £100 and £50 is awarded to two further highly commended dissertations

The dissertations should usually be 10,000 words or more and should be submitted as a PDF file, along with a copy of the appropriate departmental dissertation regulations and a (post-September) contact address for the student.

PLEASE NOTE: This year, we are also asking that the dissertation supervisor, with the support of the student concerned, to complete a short form which provides contextual information about the dissertation as a means to give full consideration to the conditions under which the dissertation research was developed, conducted and written up (if unable to see attachment please email for a copy).

Please note that departments may not submit more than one entry.

In addition, given the impact of the UCU Marking and Assessment boycott, dissertations submitted as part of a degree in the 2022/23 academic year can be submitted and awards will be given for the 2022/23 academic year and the 2023/24 academic year.
