🚨BURNLEY STAFF IN BELGIUM TO SCOUT STRIKER

Vincent Kompany was joined by his two assistants Craig Bellamy and Rodyse Munienge as they track Westerlo striker, Lyle Foster.

The Monaco youth academy product has 8 goals and 2 assists in only 20 games this season as his side sit in 7th.

Kompany and co watched the 22 year old South African in tonight’s 3-2 loss to Genk.

Burnley have been said to have already sent a ‘generous’ offer which Westerlo have rejected.

Burnley have been watching Foster ever since Kompany came in, and Kompany wanted to do some final personal scouting.

MOSIMANE'S AGENT SLAMS SOME AL AHLY FANS FOR NOT APPRECIATING THE COACH'S SUCCESS

Talk that the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician could be fired resurfaced recently after the Cairo giants failed to win the Caf Champions League.

Moira Tlhagale, the agent of Pitso Mosimane, has taken aim at a section of Al Ahly fans for baying for the coach’s blood despite the success he has brought to the club.

Tlhagale was referring to the “disheartening” criticism directed at Mosimane, who has guided Al Ahly to two Caf Champions League titles, as many Caf Super Cups and the Egyptian Cup.

But after the Cairo giants were beaten to the Egyptian Premier League title by Zamalek last season, as well as the recent Champions League final defeat by Wydad Casablanca, some Al Ahly fans have called for Mosimane’s head.

“It is quite disheartening that a person can do so much but people are never really happy,” said Tlhagale as per Sowetan Live.

“I don’t know their reasons, but I believe coach Pitso Mosimane has done extremely well. Having said that, it is important to make it clear it is not all Al Ahly supporters who have been critical.

“Coach Pitso has been well received and supported by most Al Ahly supporters who appreciate his contribution to the team and the seven titles he has achieved in less than 20 months.

“It is disheartening there is constant negativity from people who are always insinuating the coach is about to be fired each time he plays a game.”

After the Champions League disappointment, Al Ahly’s main target now is the Premier League crown and they trail log leaders Zamalek by seven points.

Mosimane’s men have, however, played four games fewer than their rivals, who have 14 league matches to go before concluding their campaign.

“Ahly is a team that wants to win every match. I've never seen a team that wants to win every match, hence there's

Khumalo : You've been clapping for Downs, When will we clap for you?

“You’ve been watching Mamelodi Sundowns win for seasons now. You keep on clapping for them, but when are we going to clap for you?”

This is Doctor Khumalo’s question to Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams with capabilities to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns but have been failing to keep pace with the Tshwane giants.

Khumalo, a serial winner with Kaizer Chiefs in the 90s, says he wonders how players feel when they see Sundowns winning all the trophies that were up for grabs this season, including their fifth consecutive league title.

“I have a simple question for you: How does it feel to watch your opponents walking up to the podium to receive awards while watching them on television?. There are individual and team awards,” said Khumalo his latest Soccer Laduma column.

“I still wonder how it feels to watch opposition players and teams collecting awards while sitting in your lounge and watching them on television? Once again, I really hope that someone will show up and challenge Sundowns next season.

“The more players and teams raising their hands next season, the better it will be for our football. That’s how the game will be interesting and catch everyone’s eye. Everyone will start getting more interested in the game.

Pitso Mosimane : Orlando Pirates and other PSL clubs can afford R2 million per month

Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has insisted that Premier Soccer League clubs can afford him if they really want him.

The decorated 57-year-old tactician signed a two-year contract extension with the Egyptian football powerhouse in March this year and he is believed to be earning a whopping R2,5 million per month.

“It’s not about affordability," Mosimane, who is considered to be among the highest-paid coaches in African club football, told the media.

The man nicknamed Jingles implied that top PSL clubs can employ him on an R2 million per month contract through the assistance of their club sponsors.

"Do you want to tell me that Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates do not have money to pay a coach? No, what we are talking about is the culture that we cannot pay a coach R2-million a month. But if you have sponsors you can do it," he said.

“In South Africa sponsorship is big. Maybe we need to investigate how much money the sponsors are giving to the clubs, and then we will realise this thing is doable.”

With uncertainty surrounding the Pirates coaching job following former coach Fadlu Davids' departure, most Bucs fans would love to see Mosimane taking charge of their club.

The 2016 Caf Coach of the Year mentor made it known that he is not afraid of challenges having won trophies with SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns before moving to Al Ahly in 2020.

“I’ve been a guy who comes and rebuilds teams. At Sundowns, they were 14th on the log when I joined them. SuperSport United as well, they were 14th," he Mosimane:.

"So, I am not afraid to rebuild
