benchmarking session on council ethics committee, integrity and how the City run its council.

The focus of the benchmarking is to share best practices and learn from each other on the Separation of Powers model.

Day Two of the World Water Conference, the City of Mbombela had an opportunity to engage on the Challenges faced by Cities with ensuring urban water resilience and declining water quality in natural water bodies. Like many municipalities, the City has been highly impacted by climate change. As a forward thinking City, we have been exploring a number of green infrastructure projects. Although change is a difficult thing, we must adapt to the new realities. Climate change is not a distant threat, it is our present reality. We are calling for partnerships with the public sector, academic institutions and other sectors of government. We also call on the public to actively participate in all these initiatives to combat global warming. The City’s resilience depends on shared responsibility amongst all. Together, through collaboration and innovation, we can secure the future we want.
