It’s 2025, who remembers this classic?

I typically don't talk about this kind of thing on my profile, mostly because I'm just a fantasy creator, but since something very similar (with a different outcome) happened to recently I wanted to talk about it.

There's a story going around about a woman who was invited to a neighborhood cookout but the homeowners were upset because they didn't know her and she was in their house. I've heard claims that she was not invited but she actually was invited. Either way, they made her feel very uncomfortable and they were not very nice to her. Basically stating that they didn't want her in the house, being rude, and other sorts of drama. She left the party feeling embarrassed and in tears. That would be a very horrible experience. There's more to it - Don't want to waste your time with the whole story. That's basically the gist of it.

So on my experience.....This lady brought food to our cookout on the 4th of July because she didn't want to come empty handed EVEN THOUGH she wasn't invited. She just lives in the same apartment complex. We welcomed her. We talked to her. It didn't ruin anything for us. She was a very kind lady who brought food and we were just generally welcoming and kind. Everyone had a good time and nobody left in tears feeling embarrassed.

THAT is what you actually do when someone comes over (invited or uninvited to a party....) instead they acted like that and ended up all over the internet looking like a fool.

It is so much easier to do something like myself and family did.....which was be welcoming and show hospitality. Anything besides be rude to the woman who brought them homemade food trying to have a good time.

Anyway, kindness and hospitality goes a long way.

People need to learn kindness and hospitality.

THREAVE CASTLE

Threave is a real statement Castle situated on the River Dee in Galloway. It was the Castle ordered to be built by Archibald Douglas, the son of the Good Sir James Douglas.

The Castle initially completed in 1369 was built at a time when Archibald the Grim was one of the most powerful clan leaders in the land. Threave became the base for the Black Douglases over the next almost 100 years before James the 2nd of Scotland ordered the Castle to be sieged in 1455

The Castle became a ruin after a period of time being controlled by the Crown and the Maxwell family.

A 5 storey high, well defended tower house with a later artillery wall this Castle really highlights the power of the Douglas clan in the area as their base had to be so well defended.

A wonderful place that we hope is fully open again soon
