Shalulile becomes PSL’s all-time top scorer as Sundowns edge Stellenbosch
Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile made history by becoming the Premier Soccer League’s all-time leading scorer, netting his 130th goal in Mamelodi Sundowns’ 1-0 win over Stellenbosch at Athlone Stadium.
The Namibian striker converted a penalty just before halftime, surpassing Siyabonga Nomvethe’s record of 129 goals.
Shalulile has now scored 103 goals in 210 appearances for Sundowns since joining from Highlands Park in 2020.
The victory propels Sundowns to be secoond on Betway Premiership table, while Stellenbosch remain 13th despite a spirited effort.
“It's a proud moment for me and the team,” Shalulile said, acknowledging the support that helped him reach the milestone.
Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso praised the striker’s relentless work rate, as fans celebrate a historic moment for South African football.
