For 16 years, I have lived with my disabled son. Day and night. Every meltdown, every sleepless night, every small victory that means the world to us.

I have no reason to lie about him being autistic. What would I gain? This is not a label I chose for attention — it is our reality.

My son is autistic. He is disabled. And he deserves to be believed, respected, and supported — not questioned.

I am his parent, his advocate, and his voice when the world is too loud for him. I will never stop speaking the truth about who he is. You are only getting a glimpse of him now while this has been my life for 16 years, I am shocked at some of the comments I get

16 years ago my life changed forever. I became a mom to an amazing boy who sees the world differently.

Living with autism for 16 years is not easy to explain if you haven't lived it. The hospital visits, the therapies, the tears behind closed doors, and also the purest love I have ever known.

So when someone doubts his diagnosis, it hurts. I have absolutely no reason to lie about my son being autistic. I live this every single day.

I am not looking for pity. I am asking for understanding. My son is not a lie. He is my son.
