Yesterday we shared the first peek into our catalogue, and shared some of our larger items. Today we’re bringing you a few more of the smaller pieces we’ve been creating— each one made with the same love, patience, and purpose that started this journey of ours.

Meet the Team: Sindie Dlamini

Sindie is the heart of our workshop — keeping the space clean, calm, and ready for us to create in. As our dedicated cleaner, she plays a role that often goes unnoticed but is absolutely essential. With three young children (the youngest just six months old!), she still shows up each day with a bright spirit and contagious energy.

Always upbeat and deeply connected to the rest of the team, Sindie brings warmth and care into everything she does — and we’re so lucky to have her as part of the Nic & Nic family.

Day One at AllFashion Sourcing Cape Town – What a Moment!

Today marked a milestone for us — our very first day showcasing at and what a beautiful experience it’s been so far!

We had the honour of seeing our bags come to life on the runway, met with buyers from leading businesses, and felt the energy of possibility in every corner of the room. 🙌🏾

A heartfelt thank you to and for believing in our vision and creating a platform where dreams like ours can grow. This opportunity means the world to us.

Meet the Team: Solomon Chiziane

If there’s one person whose hands carry the story of dedication, it’s Solomon Chiziane.

Sol is probably the hardest working person in our workshop—he just loves the sewing machine. Taught by his father while he was still a young boy, he’s spent thousands of hours in front of one, and it shows. His ability to quickly pick up new techniques and consistently deliver quality work is unmatched.

But Solomon’s journey with us started long before production began. He’s been with us since we arrived on the mountain—helping construct our shack in 2021 when we had just moved into the village. In 2022, after learning some basic Earth Bag Construction techniques from Shalav (and YouTube), we began building our home, and Solomon was right there with us every step of the way. His contribution during that time—and ever since—has been immeasurable.

Today, at just 23 years old, Solomon stands as a vital part of the Nic & Nic team. His quiet strength, work ethic, and loyalty have helped shape our journey here in the mountains. We’re proud to work beside him—and even prouder to share his story with you. 🖤

From 8 to 10 July, we’ll be showcasing our upcycled creations — and kicking things off in style with a runway show on Day 1, where our new designs will be featured as part of a curated collection brought to life on the catwalk.
