Today, on the Modelspace, we have one of the Miss Influence South Africa Finalists, Silindile Melita Ngcobo (21) from Pretoria in Arcadia.

We have the spotlight on the Finalist of South Africa's most powerful pageant that is more than just a pageant but more of a leadership platform that empowers young women to use their voices to create meaningful change in their communities.

"I joined Miss Influence South Africa because I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. As an education student, I’ve always believed that real change begins with educating, empowering, and inspiring people. This pageant aligns perfectly with my values because it celebrates women who are intentional about making a difference." Said Melita

In our conversation with her, Melita also went on to explain why she joined this pageant and what it meant to her to be on such a platform. She said that her wearing a crown has never been the end goal but her purpose is to use the platform to advocate for young people, encourage self-belief and prove that leadership starts with serving others and Miss Influence South Africa gives her the opportunity to do exactly that.

"This journey is helping me grow far beyond modeling. It is developing my confidence, leadership skills, public speaking, and ability to connect with people from different backgrounds.
As a model, I want to represent more than fashion and photographs. I want people to see someone who carries herself with purpose and uses every opportunity to inspire others. Miss Influence South Africa is shaping me into a woman who can confidently represent brands, communities, and causes that genuinely matter." She added

Melita said she dont believe she will ever reach a point where she says, "Now I have made it" because growth never really stops. However, she feels truly accomplished when her name is associated with impact rather than popularity. She believes that she will see that her journey has been worthwhile when people start to recognize her as someone who used modeling and pegeantry to change lives, mentor young women and leave communities better than she found them.

"I want my journey to remind people that where you come from should never determine where you’re going. Growing up in KwaZulu-Natal and pursuing my dreams in Pretoria has taught me that courage opens doors that fear never will.
I hope young girls will see that they don’t have to fit into society’s expectations to make a difference. They simply need to believe in themselves and remain committed to their purpose.The impact I want to leave is one of hope, education and empowerment. If I can inspire one young person to dream bigger, stay in school, believe in their potential and become a positive influence in their own community, then I know I’ve fulfilled my purpose."

As we closed our conversation with her, Melita made it clear that young women must always live by the zulu saying "umuntu umuntu ngabantu" because it will remind them that True success isn't measured by how many people know your name, but how many lives are better because you were part of the journey.

Kultsha Studios is set to announce the new highly anticipated feature on the "CULTURE SHIFT" event.

From just a fashion show to a big opportunity for models in Pietermaritzburg, fostering collaboration and development. On the second edition of the culture shift models will walk on the runway not just to showcase but to stand a chance of walking away with R1000 cash prize, merchandise and ambassadorship opportunities.

The best part about this competition is the fact that models will be dressed by the event designers and wont have to stress about getting outfits, all they will have to do is to register,practice and bring their A game on stage

IMBALI SUPERSTARS MAKING MOVES!

Verified Impact Makers | 📸📰

Today in the spotlight we have the talented musical duo from Pietermaritzburg, particularly Imbali unit 14,Thobekile Dladla and Mlungisi Shabangu together known as the Duo Mluh and Thoby Dladla.

The duo is known for their authentic storytelling, emotive vocal delivery, and culturally rooted sound. We saw their rise with their hit single "izinkinga zami" featuring SG MusiQ, which was a sing along song that was played from street to street,house to house,club to club and got air play from all national radio stations and achieved significant streaming success and chart recognition.

Mluh & Thoby Dladla developed a sound rooted in real-life experiences, reflecting themes of struggle, resilience, and hope. They have collaborated with other artists like the legendary Dj Bongz, Slenda Da dancing dj, Dj mngadi,Phinova, and sykes. Their song "izinkinga zami" got 3.8M+ Spotify streams, 4.8M+ total catalogue streams, 34 Spotify SA weekly chart, 21 Spotify SA daily chart, 80+ days on Spotify Top 200, 73 Apple Music south Africa and took the Number 2 spot of the Song of the year run on Umgungundlovu FM in 2025.

We saw the duo performing in many big festivals and clubs like the likes of Dj Bongz Social link, Facts Durban rocks, All Varsities Social picnic, Red square Dj knockout,Impendle Music Festival, Platinum Boyz festival, Last dance festival, Views (Durban), The basement (PMB), The next stop, HQ lounge, Umhlanga rooftop, lime rooftop (Umhlanga), Fahlaza lounge, Mavuso Shisa Lounge and got media and radio exposure from Gagasi FM, Umgungundlovu FM, Vibe FM and Metro FM Top 30 Charts.

As Pietermaritzburg creatives community we are proud to witness such success for our very own creatives and as Impact magazine afrika, we are so excited to have to share such stories for our upcoming creatives to get some inspiration. We had a chat with the duo and they had this to share with the creatives.

There is no perfect day and time to make this announcement more than today,as we celebrate WORLD POETRY DAY as Impact magazine afrika

We’re excited to announce that we now have a new slot for Sundays and the slot is called POETRY SUNDAYS,we will be profiling Pietermaritzburg based poets and uploading their 1-5 minutes professional shot video performing/reciting one of their poems!

This marks a new chapter in our journey of empowering creatives, building collaborations, and driving innovation from Maritzburg to the world.

This is to also show that we are More than ready and open to solidify 🤝our Partnerships and Collaborations with local creatives from Pietermaritzburg.
