Forgery allegations rock MaMkhize over Royal AM purchase
Businesswoman and reality TV personality Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize is at the centre of a growing scandal following allegations that she forged her sister’s signature to purchase Royal AM football club and register multiple companies without consent.
According to explosive reports by News24, MaMkhize’s sister, Nosipho Ngubo, has accused her of fraudulently using her identity while she was recovering from a hysterectomy and battling COVID-19 in 2020.
MaMkhize allegedly used her sister’s identity as a front to hide her assets from her estranged husband, Sbu Mpisane, amid divorce proceedings in which he was demanding half of their joint estate, report News24.
Ngubo detailed her claims in an affidavit submitted to the Durban High Court on 2 July 2025, stating that she had no knowledge of her name being used in the Royal AM transaction or in other companies, including Lungza Management Consultants, Igugu Logcwabe Business Enterprise, Ukwakhiwa Group, and the Mamkhize Foundation.
The allegations come at a turbulent time for MaMkhize, who is already embroiled in legal disputes with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
SARS recently seized Ngubo’s bank accounts and movable assets to recover a R12 million tax debt linked to the companies in question liabilities Ngubo insists she had no part in.
The financial blow has left Ngubo and her husband in a dire situation, reportedly struggling to meet basic obligations.
MaMkhize herself is currently under investigation for nearly R40 million in unpaid taxes. Royal AM, the football club she famously acquired and rebranded, has since been placed under curatorship and faces potential liquidation due to ongoing financial distress.
MaMkhize has yet to issue a public statement regarding the forgery allegations. As the matter heads to court, the outcome could have serious implications not only for her personal reputation but also for the future of the broader Mkhize business empire.
