“Pick up the prayer.”

🦋 Right hand rests palm up either on the right thigh or on the floor next to right leg if you’re more flexible.
🦋 Reach left arm straight up while bending over to the right and placing left hand onto right palm.
🦋 Both hands are now in prayer mudra.

🦋 Sweep both arms up to brow point (third eye) release hands and repeat to other side.

Although at one time or another I’ve been vegetarian and vegan and currently include a bit of animal protein, it’s so enjoyable to make a meal that is wholly pure plant and quick to prepare: oven roasted butternut and sweet potato, Brussels sprouts stewed with onion, garlic and tomatoes, and wonder of wonders; an instant couscous made from chick peas. All prepared in under an hour!

You Deserve Longevity!

Aging does not start with years; it begins with nutritional deficiency, intestinal problems and an inflexible spine that disrupts the flow of spinal fluid.

In fact the Indian yogis say that age is measured by flexibility of the spine.

How to do it:
🦋 Sit cross legged.
🦋 Grab your front ankle.
🦋 Flex the spine forward and lift the chest up.
🦋 On the exhale flex the spine backwards.
🦋 Keep your head level so that it does not flip-flop.
🦋 Repeat at a steady rhythm for 2-3 minutes.

This exercise also works well seated in a chair.

Radiant Aging Tip: If you don't use it, you'll lose it!

This goes for everything in life, especially our spines. And the commonly found stationary life does not support a healthy spine.

Here is a fun little flow you can do whenever you feel the need to bring more mobility into your spine.

I love the text for above reel ✅ …. Use it or loose it. So true.

🦋 Start on all fours (hands under shoulders, knees under hips)
🦋 Please get this start position correct; it sets the structure for the whole flow
🦋 Begin “cat cow”.
🦋 In cow, drop the belly down and left the head up
🦋 In cat, round the back and drop the head
🦋 Move smoothly between the two positions
🦋 Inhale into cow, exhale into cat
🦋 Do as many as you like.

Let's transition...

🦋Still on all fours begin making big circles, as may as you like and then change direction for the same number
🦋 Finally, drop into child pose and extend both arms forward, legs straight out behind you; supported by your arms lift your chest into “upward facing dog stretch”, then back into child pose

Do as many reps of this as you wish.

When you’re done rest a while in child pose. ❤️

Every now and then this image pops up and I’m reminded of the event; a beautiful SpiritFest that took place at a superb venue on the banks of the Olifants River in the Western Cape area of South Africa. It was a festival of celebration! We danced, and listened and did loads of every description of yoga. It reminded me of my purpose as a teacher (and ongoing student) of Kundalini yoga; the yoga of awareness, that gives one the opportunity to bring about transformation in life. I bow in gratitude for the way it supports and informs me, year after year.
