1. Soshanguve is one of the biggest townships within the demarcation of Tshwane Metropolitan.
2. The township — commonly known as Sosha — was established during 1974.
3. The name Soshanguve is a sort of an acronym on its own as it represents the population demographics that are found there. Here is the meaning of it: 'So' - Sotho, 'Sha' - Shangaan, 'Ngu' - Nguni and 'Ve' - Venda.
4. As per the 2011 Stats SA census, this thriving and rapidly growing township had a population size of about 403, 162.
5. Soshanguve's population [of 403, 162] makes it one of the highly populated townships in the Tshwane Metropolitan area.

14. Soshanguve Crossing in the east of Aubrey Matlala road near the Ruth First street is one of the busy shopping centres and tourists attraction areas in the township.
