BALOBEDU THRONE BATTLE RETURNS TO COURT.

03 September 2026.

BOLOBEDU-The legal battle over the Balobedu throne is continuing in the Pretoria High Court, where Prince Lekukela Modjadji is challenging President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recognition of his sister, Queen Masalanabo Modjadji VII, as the rightful monarch.

The dispute has been ongoing for years. Lekukela was installed as king by a faction of the Modjadji Royal Council in 2022, while another faction backed Masalanabo. Ramaphosa formally recognised Masalanabo as the Rain Queen in December 2024.

The latest court proceedings could determine whether the President’s recognition stands, keeping the future of the Balobedu throne at the centre of the legal battle.

❓️Who do you think should ultimately lead the Balobedu nation, Queen Masalanabo or Prince Lekukela?

PITSO MOSIMANE RETURNS TO BAFANA BAFANA.

03 September 2026.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) appointed Pitso Mosimane as the new head coach of Bafana Bafana.

Mosimane returns to the national team 14 years after his first spell, having previously coached Bafana from 2010 to 2012. He left the position in 2012 and was appointed Mamelodi Sundowns head coach in December 2012, where he went on to build one of the most successful club careers in South African football.

For his return, Mosimane has been given the freedom to bring in four members of his trusted technical team, with two already unveiled. The new technical setup effectively brings Helman Mkhalele’s tenure with Bafana Bafana to an end.

Mosimane returns with an impressive continental pedigree, having won the CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016 and twice with Al Ahly.
Now, the big question is whether the experienced coach can transform that success into another golden era for Bafana Bafana.

❓️Is Pitso Mosimane the right man to lead Bafana Bafana?
