RESERVE BANK GOVERNOR ANNOUNCE REPO RATE CUT.

PRETORIA - 20 November 2025.
Reserve Bank Governor Lesetja Kganyago has announced that, the repo rate will be cut by 25 basis points, meaning that the prime lending rate will decline to 10.25%. Kganyago made the announcement in Pretoria after the three-day meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee on Thursday, 20 November 2025.

BROWN MOGOTSI’S TESTIMONY UNDER SCRUTINY AT MADLANGA COMMISSION.

PRETORIA -19 November 2025. Brown Mogotsi faced intense questioning at the Madlanga Commission, after Commissioner Sesi Baloyi challenged his claims.

Mogotsi alleged that Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala visited General Mkhwanazi at his Umhlanga Ridge home, but evidence shows Mkhwanazi lives in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal. He also claimed Mkhwanazi and King Misuzulu were CIA agents, which was dismissed as a misdirection tactic by evidence leader Adv. Chaskalson.

Mogotsi admitted lying about being employed in Police Minister Senzo Mchunu’s office to obtain a warrant, saying he misrepresented himself because he could not reveal his true role.

He is scheduled to return Thursday for further cross-examination.

MALUSI GIGABA STEPS ASIDE FROM ANC DUTIES AMID CORRUPTION CHARGES.

JOHANNESBURG - 19 November 2025.
Former Public Enterprises Minister Malusi Gigaba, has stepped aside from his ANC roles, following formal corruption charges linked to irregular Transnet tenders. ANC Secretary‑General Fikile Mbalula said the move aligns with the party’s step‑aside rule and is not an admission of guilt.

Gigaba has pledged to cooperate with authorities, and court proceedings have been postponed to 30 January 2026.

FICKSBURG MAN RECEIVES LIFE SENTENCE FOR R**E OF YOUNG DAUGHTER.

FICKSBURG - Free State -19 November 2025.
A 45-year-old father from Ficksburg has been handed a life sentence after the local Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit secured his conviction for the r**e of his six-year-old daughter.

The crime occurred on 09 September 2024. The child had just returned from school and was left in the care of her father, while her mother went back to work. Shortly after, the man approached the girl, covered her mouth to silence her, and r**ed her before warning her not to speak about the attack.

Over the following days, the child complained of pain, and after questioning by a family member, she revealed what had happened. A medical examination confirmed the assault, leading to the father's arrest.

After police investigation, the case proceeded to court. On 18 November 2025, the accused was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment.

GQEBERHA DOCTOR ARRESTED FOR R**E, SEXUAL ASSAULT.

GQEBERHA - 19 November 2025.
A 53-year-old former medical practitioner was arrested by the Gqeberha FCS Unit, on 18 November 2025 after five women reported him in 2020 for r**e and sexual assault. He handed himself over with his attorney and was charged with one count of r**e and four counts of sexual assault.

He appeared in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court, was released on R5 000 bail, and is due back on 10 February 2026.
