BREAKING: Habemus Papam. Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, OSA, has been elected as the new Bishop of Rome. He has taken the name Pope Leo XIV and becomes the first American Pope in history.

179 passengers declared dead in South Korea plane crash
Jeju Air flight, carrying 181 passengers from Bangkok, veered off runway and caught fire on landing, reports media. Eyewitness footage obtained by Reuters on Sunday (December 29) showed the moment a Jeju Air plane crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea.
As the plane touched down on the tarmac, it appeared to land without its landing gear deployed. The aircraft skidded down the runway and veered off before slamming into a wall and erupting into a fireball.
