Free Up The Herbs

A judge ordered that the police should return a massive quantity of 295 pounds of g***a to the owners/representatives of a Rastafarian organisation, Zion Yard, marking a major victory for Rastafarians who are defending their constitutional rights to freedom of religion and the use of of g***a for sacramental purposes.

The ruling stemmed from the dismissal of charges against Andy Blake who was charged by narcotics police on July 3, 2025 for possession, dealing, using premises to store and cultivation of 295 pounds of g***a.

Condolences to his family and friends 🕊️

SAMRO is saddened by the passing of Reggae music composer and lyricist, Richard 'Richie S', 'Saggy Sagila' Siluma.

Born in KwaZulu-Natal, Richard’s love for music was inspired by his father, Aphius Siluma. He began his journey at Gallo Records in 1976, later producing for artists such as Stimela, Ukhamba Lomvaleliso, and his cousin, the late Lucky Dube.

Richard released his own music in the 80s under Richie S, with hits like Change and African Dance. A Jimmy Cliff concert in 1976 sparked his lifelong love for Reggae, and he later played a pivotal role in guiding Lucky Dube into the genre, producing the groundbreaking "Slave" album in the late 1980s.

SAMRO extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the music industry at large.
