Tebogo Patrick Mokonyane, better known by his stage name Modongo, is an emerging Amapiano artist from Hammanskraal, Pretoria. His musical journey began in 2007 during his school years, and in 2009, he co-founded a music group called Tear Drops. His breakthrough came in 2019 with the release of his single *Thiba*, which gained widespread recognition and was featured on popular TV shows such as *Rhythm City*, *House of Zwide*, and *Skeem Saam*. The music video for *Thiba* was also played on major music channels, including Channel O, MTV Base, and Trace Urban.

Modongo’s success with *Thiba* led to interviews, including an appearance on SABC's *Morning Live*. He later signed a three-year distribution deal with Kalawa Jazmee Records, solidifying his place in the industry. His latest single, *Hlanyisa*, is a celebration of love and aims to inspire positivity while addressing social issues like gender-based violence. The song was produced by Soshanguve-based artist Kopzen, who is also featured on the track. *Hlanyisa* has received airplay on multiple local and international radio stations, proving Modongo’s growing influence.
