Every beginner Producer knows and can differentiate between basic or amateur mixing & pro Vocal Mixing & mastering .

But the question is why can't you mix & master like a pro where are you missing it ?

Answers

1. Auto tune Retune speed
In your songs your auto tune can be heard or noticed even by people who are not producers but in pro songs the auto tune can't be really noticed by people who are not producers.

2. Noise Vocals or very Harsh or Boomie Vocals . Before mixing or putting any plugin for mixing check you or listening to the vocals and check it's frequencies.

Eg I have B1 & B2 mics ,these mics have more high frequencies .That means when mixing I should be very aware of those frequencies that means If I boost them it will make vocal more harsh.

3. Beat mixing ,Beats sounds plays a very important role in mixing.If the beat is very noise no matter what you will do to the vocals still the overall mix will be bad .

4 Song loudness & Wideness .
U cant make the song very wide at mastering stage that means you are increasing the phase issues .
Song wideness starts from beat making & vocal Mixing where you pan some sound or vocals .

5 .Your mind set u think u are bad at mixing and mastering but the audience don't complain about your mixing and mastering of your songs .
6. Your singers or rapper If someone sings very well live on phone what can make those Vocals sound bad in studio.
Most of times pro Vocal Mixing depends on pro singing.
