“On the 25th of June a man was fatally shot at Soshanguve, Block XX. It's alleged he was next to B1 park when a blue polo opened fire on him before speeding off.

The incident happened around 4:30pm, and around 6pm the police arrived followed by paramedics. The victim was declared dead on scene.

Police are investigating the events that led to the shooting and the identity of the victim is yet to be confirmed.”

Meet Ofentse Ruaykayer Pheto also known as Tall_Skinny_Barbie(19). Who was born and bred in Soshanguve extension 11, currently residing in Durban because of her studies.

"I am a runway, fashion show, commercial, pageant, swimwear model and a model coach . Being a model has always been my dream starting from an early age, I was inspired by models I used to see in the magazines then I started showing interest.

I started to pursue my modelling career when I was 13 years of age, I took part in fashion shows then in 2020 I was interested in pageants so I joined Miss Face of Hoping for the Best 2020 and I won 1st princess position, in 2022 I won Miss Vicks 2nd princess position as well as Miss Soshanguve crossing 1st princess position. I have gained recognition from scouters in this modelling industry more especially on the side of fashion shows and runways. This year I took part in Miss Significant Kzn 2023 it was scary at first because I was not used to this place & people, but I managed to attain 3 tittles (Miss Significant Kzn Teen Queen 2023, Face of Miss Significant Kzn 2023 and Miss Significant Kzn Popularity 2023). December I'll be taking part in Mr & Miss Superior SA pagent.

I want to be a good leader and a good example to my peers and community. I want to be a voice to the voiceless, provide sanitary products to girls who can't afford to buy them as well as stationary.

Modelling made me who I am today as it took away the fear I had, & it developed and boosted my self-confidence, self-love, self-esteem and taught me to be self-disciplined. Pageants are impactful and powerful as they are a platform that gives women and men a chance to showcase their intelligence & talents, it reunites and empowers people from different ethnics, cultures, backgrounds and religions.

I have a 1 year old daughter but that didn't stop me from chasing my dreams. so I want to motivate all teen mothers out there that it is not the end of the world..."
