South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa, in an address to the nation, highlighted the successful hosting of the first-ever G20 Summit on African soil. He outlined key outcomes, including debt relief for developing countries, increased climate funding, measures to address global inequality, and the declaration of gender-based violence as a national disaster. Ramaphosa also reaffirmed South Africa’s status as a founding G20 member and its commitment to engage fully and constructively in the forum, following remarks by President Donald Trump suggesting that South Africa would not be invited to the next G20 in the United States.
