LOVE BOMBING

(It is important to note: awareness of love bombing is not about labeling or judging anyone. It is about understanding a pattern of behavior so that we can recognize it, maintain clarity, and protect our emotional well-being. Awareness helps us experience love in ways that are healthy, balanced, and sustainable)

What Is Love Bombing?

Love bombing is a pattern where someone gives excessive attention, affection, compliments, or gifts very early in a relationship. At first, it may feel flattering, exciting, or even like the perfect connection.

In some relationships, this intense attention can feel overwhelming and may create a strong emotional attachment very quickly. What begins as excitement can later turn into confusion, especially when the intensity changes.

Why It Can Happen?

In unhealthy dynamics, this behavior is often not about genuine love, but about creating quick attachment, trust, or dependence.

From a behavioral perspective, the person may be trying to:

Gain influence or control quickly

Create emotional dependence

Cover deep insecurity or a lack of true emotional connection

Understanding this does not excuse harm—but it helps us respond with wisdom rather than confusion.

Signs That Help With Awareness:
(For learning, not diagnosing)

Feeling rushed into intimacy or commitment

Feeling like you’re on an emotional “rollercoaster” — intense affection followed by distance or withdrawal

Feeling uncomfortable with the intensity, but unsure why

Feeling pressured to reciprocate feelings or commitment quickly

(By learning to notice the difference between genuine care and overwhelming intensity, we grow in wisdom and discernment, while keeping our hearts safe)

Scripture:
1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.

Prayer:
Father God,
We lift up those who have experienced overwhelming affection that led to confusion or emotional attachment. Bring clarity, peace, and wisdom to their hearts.

We also pray for those whose words or actions have caused emotional turbulence—meet them with Your conviction, humility, and healing, that they may grow in integrity and truth.

May Your Spirit guide all of us to love with discernment, grace, and hope.
In Jesus' name, Amen🙏

MARRIAGE: GOD'S CONENANT AND OUR RESPONSIBILITY

In December, we celebrated a beautiful moment — my daughter’s wedding.
During the service, the officiator taught from Scripture that a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and that what God has joined together, no one must separate.

As I have continued to meditate on that teaching, a deeper revelation has come to light.

The Bible says:
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
— Genesis 2:24

Marriage is not only a union between two people — it is a covenant before God.
Scripture reminds us:
“The Lord is a witness between you and the wife of your covenant.”
— Malachi 2:14

This means that covenant is sacred.
Stepping outside of it, or willingly entering what belongs to another, is never hidden from God.

The Word gently warns us:
“Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?”
— Proverbs 6:27

These Scriptures are not written to condemn, but to protect — to guard hearts, homes and destinies.

Interfering with a marriage opens doors that human reasoning, emotions, or secrecy cannot control.
Only the God who joined that covenant has the authority to close them.

Wisdom knows when to step back from what does not belong to us.
Wisdom honors boundaries.
And wisdom understands that God takes covenant seriously.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
— Proverbs 9:10

That is why I also encouraged the couple that day to never stop dating one another, to keep communication open, and to give each other what is due within the safety of the marriage God has blessed — not seeking it outside the covenant.

I’ve come to see that much of the darkness in the world comes not from lack of knowledge, but from choosing to ignore God’s Word.

Declaration:
I declare that every marriage where God is the foundation will remain protected.
Couples will continue to love, communicate and honor one another within their covenant.
No one will interfere with what God has established and His Word will guide every heart, in Jesus’ name.

RELEASING THE MIRROR:

Sometimes empathy is misunderstood,
not because it seeks to judge or control,
but because it carries depth.

Understanding does not always feel comfortable, especially when it invites reflection rather than agreement.

This kind of presence does not come to confront or expose. It comes quietly, with sincerity and care.

Discomfort often arises not from harm, but from the tension between appearance and inner truth.

When that happens, meanings can shift.
Insight may be misunderstood.
Discernment may feel unsettling.
Strength may seem unfamiliar.

Not because these qualities are wrong,
but because reflection is not always easy.

There comes a time when the mirror is gently set aside. What has been seen does not need explanation or defense.

Truth does not demand recognition. It remains steady, even when unacknowledged.

Stepping back is not done in anger, nor as punishment, but as an act of clarity and peace.
This is not rejection.
This is not unkindness.
This is release.

Psalm 29:11 - The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.

A BLESSING FOR 2026:
May this new year bring you clarity where there was confusion, peace where there was striving and strength that feels calm - not forced.

May your empathy be honored, your heart be guarded and your steps be guided toward places where love is safe.
2020fix - a season of healing, alignment and quiet joy.

Understanding the Need for Validation (Often Called “Supply”)

(Note that this teaching is not about labeling or diagnosing anyone. It is about recognizing behaviors that may create imbalance, emotional exhaustion, or confusion, so that understanding and healing can begin)

In some unhealthy relational dynamics, a pattern can appear where one person depends heavily on constant attention, admiration, or reassurance in order to feel secure. This need for validation can quietly shape how relationships function, often placing emotional pressure on others.

When validation becomes a demand rather than a mutual exchange, relationships can feel draining instead of life-giving. Awareness helps individuals recognize when their emotional energy is being overextended and invites healthier boundaries rooted in wisdom and self-worth.

God calls us into relationships marked by mutual honor, truth, and balance. Understanding these patterns allows us to grow in discernment and choose paths that lead to peace.

Scripture:
“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” — Jeremiah 17:9

Prayer:
Father God, we ask for Your light to reveal what we may not clearly see. Bring understanding where there has been confusion and restore balance where there has been emotional strain.

We pray for those who have been wounded by unhealthy relational patterns—heal their hearts and strengthen their sense of worth.

We also pray for those who seek validation from broken places—meet them with Your truth, humility, and healing love.

May Your wisdom guide us all into relationships that reflect Your peace and grace.
Amen.

Sometimes harm does not begin loudly; it unfolds in patterns. Learning about these behaviors is not about blaming people, but about gaining wisdom, protecting our well-being and choosing healthier paths forward.

Scripture:
Proverbs 4:23 - Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Week 1: Introduction – A Journey of Understanding and Healing

Some time ago, I worked with a colleague who often spoke about a certain pattern of behavior she called narcissism. At the time, I listened, but I did not fully understand it.

After she left the workplace, I began noticing similar conversations appearing repeatedly on social networks—messages about emotional manipulation, confusion, and deep relational wounds. What once sounded distant slowly became familiar.

That is when I felt a stirring in my heart to learn more. Not to label people, but to understand the behavior, the impact, and the path to healing.

As MmaSechaba sa Modimo, I believe knowledge should serve restoration, not condemnation. Scripture teaches us that “My people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). If understanding can protect, heal, and bring clarity, then it is worth learning—together.

This weekly teaching is an invitation!!!
An invitation to grow in discernment, to strengthen boundaries, and to help our beloved brethren who may be confused, wounded, or silently enduring emotional harm.

May we walk this journey with wisdom, compassion, and truth—seeking healing, not blame; clarity, not fear. AMEN!!
