Natiki - is an adaptation of one of�Madiba’s Favourite African Folktales
This mini-series are stories which have been adapted into screenplays from the book Nelson Mandela’s Favourite African Folktales. The book has won the NAACP Image Award and enjoys worldwide distribution. The animated series has extended these written words into magical moving images that will be cherished for generations. This is not just a great selection of African Folktales. These are the stories personally selected by our most beloved and admired hero - Rolihlahla Nelson Mandela himself. Stories told to him as a boy in the village of Qunu about the history and folklore of the African Continent. Stories every boy & girl should hear and learn from and grow and develop into heroes of our time.

A big THANK YOU to the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP) for funded the production of our short animation film Natiki.

The PESP helps people in the arts, culture, and heritage sectors across South Africa by supporting projects that create or keep jobs,
encourage digital creativity,
bring art, stories, and history to new audiences.

Thanks to PESP with partners like the National Film and Video Foundation, Noble Pictures in collaboration with African Folktale Productions created 22 jobs in the arts and will be sharing an African story, growing local talent, and inspiring young minds!

Today we honour our hero Nelson Mandela as we dedicate our mini-series to him. These were stories told to Madiba as a boy growing up in the village of Qunu by his mother and the elders. Stories are about the history and folklore of the African Continent, stories which formed and shaped Madiba into the beloved hero he is remembered for today.

Now you too can honour him by watching his favourite African Folktales on SABC 2 at 15h30 today and every weekday this month of July.

Noble Pictures’ contribution on Madiba Day is a stepping stone to making the wish of Madiba come true, when he said “It is my wish that the voice of the storyteller will never die in Africa, that all the children of the world may experience the wonder..."
