Woke up this morning with a full heart. 🧔

We did not walk away with the last night, but walked into that room as a national nominee and that still blows my mind.

Massive congratulations to my friend from Groot FM who took home the win. I had the chance to chat to him afterwards and he is without a doubt one of the most humble souls and most incredible human beings in this industry. I am so proud of you, my friend.

To . You are my rock. Thank you for holding me up through every late night of prep, every moment of self doubt and every high and low of this year. I would not be standing on that carpet or behind this mic without you. I love you more than I can put into words.

Thank you to every single listener, to the f to my friends and family for backing me so hard.

Awards are amazing, but the real win is getting to do this show with you every weekday. We keep building. We keep learning. We keep making radio you can feel, not just hear.

I’m feeling pretty emotional about this one. 🧔

I’m proud to share that The Midday Exchange on 919 FM has been nominated for the 2025 Telkom Radio Awards – Best Lunchtime Show (Community).

This show started as a simple idea: create a space at lunchtime where people don’t just hear radio in the background, but actually feel it. Real conversations, real laughs, real vulnerability – in between the music, traffic and everyday chaos.

To the team – thank you for trusting me and backing this vision.
To – thank you for recognising the work that happens in this little Sandton studio.
And to every single listener who has WhatsApp’d, phoned in, laughed, cried or just quietly kept us on in the background: this nomination is as much yours as it is mine.

Congrats and respect to all the other nominees in the category – it’s an honour to stand alongside you.

Here’s to more stories, more connection, and to always feeling radio, not just hearing it.

This year shook me. Hospital gowns. Scans. Fear I didn’t have words for.
Some days I’m the loud, laughing guy. Other days I’m the quiet one who says ā€œI’m fineā€ and hopes no one asks again.

My Movember is personal:

I’ve booked my GP check-up.

I’m doing the quick self-check.

I’m tagging two mates today and asking: ā€œHow’s your head, really?ā€

I gym every day—even if it’s just 20 minutes.

I’ll say it out loud when I’m not okay.

If you needed a nudge: it’s okay to speak up. Bad day ≠ bad life.
DM me ā€œchat?ā€ and I’ll make time. 🄸

If I had to sum it up: heart and hustle.
Twelve months of opening the mic at 12, closing it at 3, and feeling that rush every single day. We’ve had highs—goosebumps when a caller nails the One-Second Challenge, stories that land, those perfect music moments. And lows—tech gremlins, tired voice days, real-life stuff off-air. Through all of it, this community kept me going.

This year also stretched me in the best ways. I got to fill in on Breakfast on Demand (hello 4am alarms šŸ˜…) and jump onto The Drive Train when needed. New slots, new pace—so many chances to ā€œlearn stuff and do stuff,ā€ and I’m grateful for every rep.

To the , family behind the glass, and everyone who WhatsApps, calls, laughs, cries, and rides along—thank you. You turned a radio show into a little lunchtime home. The features, the chaos, the care… and that Feel-Good Friday Mix from 5 past 2 to half past 2—you made them moments. ā¤ļø

Radio is fun, and it’s work—prep, playlists, timing, stories, guests, a million little decisions you never hear. I wouldn’t trade a minute.

Here’s to year two: more music, more real conversations, more showing up for each other. If you’ve shared a memory with the show, šŸ‘‡

ā€œIf no one’s said it today: I’m proud of you for still being here.

Some days the world feels loud and you feel small, and it’s easy to believe you’re the onlyĀ one cracking at the edges. You’re not.

Maybe you’ve been carrying news you can’t say out loud. Maybe the bills and the deadlinesĀ are stacked like bricks on your chest. Maybe you’re the strong one for everyone else andĀ you’re running on fumes. That doesn’t make you weak. It makes you brave—and tired.

You don’t have to perform ā€˜fine’ for anyone. You don’t have to be the hero in every room. IfĀ all you manage today is putting both feet on the floor and getting through the hours, that isĀ not nothing. That is survival. That is you, choosing to stay.

And listen—asking for help isn’t surrender. It’s care. It’s the same care you’d give your bestĀ friend without thinking. You deserve that, too.
