Born in the rural areas of KwaZulu-Natal and now based in Soweto, Zulenda is an upcoming musician determined to chase his dream and make his mark in the music industry.

From falling in love with music at an early age, to working alongside producer Xolani Ndabezitha and being part of Black Cat Records, Zulenda's story is one of growth, collaboration and believing in the power of music.

🔥 JOLAKAZI ON THE WRITERSBENCH! 🎙️👑

What a powerful conversation we had with Jolakazi — Nokubonga Jikwana!

We went beyond the music and got into the heart of the woman behind the name — identity, Xhosa heritage, ancestry, love, versatility, purpose and the journey of finding your own voice. 🌍❤️

From the Eastern Cape to Johannesburg, Jolakazi shared the story behind her artistic identity and the meaning carried in her name, while taking us deep into her latest EP, Ndibizwa Embo.

We spoke about reconnecting with our roots, carrying culture into contemporary music, the power of love expressed through action, and refusing to be placed inside a box creatively.

And of course… the Writersbench Eish! Moment and Hot Box had to happen! 😂🔥

This was more than an interview.

It was a conversation about knowing where you come from, understanding who you are and having the courage to evolve without losing your roots.
