I've just released a full walkthrough of the updated TrueRoller app.

In this video I go through the app feature by feature and show exactly what TrueRoller can do for a Birmingham Roller fancier.

The idea behind TrueRoller is simple:

Give Birmingham Roller breeders and flyers one place to manage their birds, pedigrees, breeding, kits, competitions and records.

I've been developing it around the things I actually need in my own loft, and it's grown into something much bigger than where it started.

I wanted to finally sit down and show you the entire updated app and where it's at right now.

Things are looking MUCH better in the breeding loft! 🔥

After the breeding problems I showed in my last video, I wanted to give you an update and show you what's happening now.

The A Team is breeding, while the B Team is keeping the sky busy — and I've included some footage of them flying and rolling.

Plus a little bit of loft work along the way. 😂

The season is starting to come together, and I'm excited to see what these pairings produce!

Well… the breeding season didn't exactly go according to plan. 😂🐦

After the South African National Championships I paired my Birmingham Rollers up and everything looked good at first.

Then the wheels came off.

The first pairs laid eggs but wouldn't sit. More birds laid eggs later and some of those ended up broken.

I've never experienced a breeding disaster like this before, so I decided to stop, break the pairs up and start again.

I've now re-paired the birds with a couple of changes, and I'm hoping this round goes MUCH better.

In this video I also talk about how I believe a beginner should start building their own Birmingham Roller family, plus I give you an update on the changes I've been making to TrueRoller.

No matter how experienced you are, breeding doesn't always go according to plan — and that's part of the journey.

The Hen That Started It All... 🕊️❤️

Every loft has that one pigeon that changes everything.

For me, it was this black white-flight hen.
One day I came home and my dad told me to watch his Birmingham Rollers flying. As I stood there watching them roll through the sky, something changed. A fire was lit inside me, and from that day on I couldn't stay out of the lofts.

Not long afterwards, I asked my dad if I could breed my own kit.

With his guidance, we put together a pairing using an old c**k, RDBR 10 100. My dad believed he was infertile, but I was convinced he would still breed. I told him, "Let's pair him up—you'll see."

He was right about many things over the years... but not that day.

The pair produced four youngsters, and one of them was this hen, RDBR 19 255.

She was something special.

She rolled with incredible speed, style and quality—so much so that even my dad was genuinely impressed.

From that moment, I was completely hooked on Birmingham Rollers.

Even though I grew up with my dad keeping Birmingham Rollers and as a kid I was with my dad learning all the trick of the trade. One gets older and interests changed also didn't help for a few years my dad only kept racing pigeons and that made me not enjoy pigeons in the slightest

People often ask where the HVBR journey began.

The answer isn't with a trophy, a championship, or a big competition.

It began with one old c**k that everyone thought was finished... one exceptional hen... and a father who introduced me to the greatest hobby I've ever known at a young age and this hen brought me back.

As they say...

The rest is history. 💙🕊️

Proud Moment for HVBR! 🏆

Over the weekend, the South African Fancy Pigeon Association hosted its National Pigeon Show, and I was incredibly fortunate to achieve a result I'm truly proud of.

Not only did my birds win Best Birmingham Roller Young Bird and Best Birmingham Roller Old Bird, but also awarded Overall Best Birmingham Roller on Show.

A huge thank you to South African Fancy Pigeon Association and everyone involved in organizing the show and to all the exhibitors who made it such a fantastic event. Congratulations to all the winners!

Results like these make all the hard work, dedication, and passion for the breed worthwhile. Here's to continuing the journey and striving for even greater achievements in the future. 🕊️

🏆 WORLD CUP QUALIFYING SCORE UPDATE! 🏆

Just uploaded a new video covering everything that's been happening at the HVBR loft.

In this update I go through:
✅ My recent World Cup qualifying fly score
✅ A few breeding pair changes I'm planning after the National Show and qualifying rounds
✅ A demonstration of how TrueRoller can capture and store competition scorecards directly in the app

The judge described the kit as a "Very entertaining kit!!" and I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks about the score and the changes I'm making moving forward.
