OFFICIAL NOTICE AND WARNING ON UNAUTHORISED DISTRIBUTION & SALE OF HEAVY’S MUSIC

Showthemflames Productions hereby issues a formal notice to all companies, distributors, platforms, individuals and other parties who are currently uploading, distributing, licensing, monetising or selling music belonging to HEAVY, including works from his first album released in 2007 through to his most recent works, without the necessary authorisation or valid licence. Following the completion of a comprehensive audit of Heavy’s music catalogue and its digital footprint,

Showthemflames Productions has identified a number of instances where Heavy’s works appear to have been commercially exploited, uploaded or distributed without the appropriate licence or legal permission.

AMNESTY PERIOD — 26 SEPTEMBER 2026
As a gesture of goodwill, Showthemflames Productions is providing all affected parties with an opportunity to voluntarily remove the unauthorised music from all platforms by no later than 26 September 2026. Any party that removes the relevant works within this period will be given the opportunity to do so without penalty or retrospective enforcement by Showthemflames Productions, subject to applicable third-party rights and legal requirements. This notice is intended to provide an opportunity for parties to regularise their position before further steps are considered.

LEGAL WARNING
After 26 September 2026, Showthemflames Productions reserves all rights available to it in respect of any unauthorised exploitation, distribution, reproduction, communication, monetisation, licensing or sale of Heavy’s works. Parties continuing to commercially exploit the catalogue after the deadline without the necessary licence or authority may be subject to appropriate legal and/or rights-enforcement action, including requests for takedown, claims relating to unauthorised exploitation and any other remedies available under applicable law. This notice should not be interpreted as granting any licence or permission to use, distribute, sell or monetise Heavy’s music.

A MESSAGE FROM HEAVY

“While I do not condone the practice of illegal sales, I would like to thank everyone who has kept my music and brand alive. I am happy that you have managed to feed yourselves and take care of your families. The call to delete is not a break of a long-standing relationship; it is the beginning of doing all things right. Anyone who wants to continue to sell my music, or music from the label, can acquire the proper licences from [email protected].”

Heavy and Showthemflames Productions recognises the role that listeners, collectors, distributors and independent music enthusiasts have played in keeping the catalogue alive over the years. The objective of this notice is not to erase those relationships, but to bring the exploitation of the catalogue into a properly authorised and sustainable framework.

Any company or individual wishing to continue distributing, selling, licensing, uploading or monetising Heavy’s music or other catalogue works under the control of Showthemflames Productions is encouraged to contact:

As we mark the end of your chapter on earth,

To the Masilo community, thank you for your overwhelming love, unity, and unwavering support. Your presence, compassion, and willingness to serve demonstrated the true spirit of Ubuntu.

To all the churches that prayed, encouraged, and walked this journey with us, we are sincerely grateful. Your spiritual guidance and faithful support brought comfort and strength during this difficult time.

To the music community, both our talented local artists and the nationally recognized performers who generously shared their gifts in honour of Itumeleng, thank you. Your heartfelt performances celebrated his life with dignity and reminded us of the powerful role music plays in healing and bringing people together.

Finally, to every individual, organization, volunteer, and supporter who responded to the call, whether through your time, resources, donations, prayers, or acts of service, thank you. Your generosity and commitment ensured that both the memorial and funeral services were conducted with excellence, honour, and respect. Your collective efforts made these occasions a true celebration of a life that touched so many.

May God richly bless each one of you for your kindness, selflessness, and love. We will forever cherish the support you have shown to the marema family and community during this season of loss.
