EXPOSED: Swiss Ambassador’s Clandestine Plot to Sabotage Gukurahundi Hearings and Divide Zimbabwe
Children of ex ZPRA combatants grouped themselves under a platform known as Abantwana BoMzabalazo. The organisation has accused State Security organs in particular the CIO of sleeping on duty as they sound the alarm on a grave threat to Zimbabwe’s sovereignty and unity. In an open letter to the Public Abantwana BoMzabalazo Chairman Mgcini Ncube made serious allegations against the Swiss Ambassador to Zimbabwe.
Ncube claimed that the Swiss Ambassador to Zimbabwe under the guise of diplomacy, has been orchestrating covert meetings with traditional leaders, the Attorney General and other influential government officials. Ncube alleged that the Ambassador is using the officials to achieve his objectives of destabilizing the Gukurahundi talks process. According to Ncube the Ambassador's mission is to manipulate the sacred Gukurahundi hearings, derail national reconciliation, and fracture the African unity essential for achieving Zimbabwe's 2030 development agenda.
Ncube in the open letter stated that Whistleblowers within the embassy are up in arms against the ambassador. They said "This is not diplomacy, it is neo-colonial interference, and while we work for the embassy our duty is towards humanity and wewill resist the Ambassador's ungodly efforts."
The Gukurahundi hearings represent a historic opportunity for Zimbabwe to confront its past, heal deep wounds, and forge a unified future. This community-led processes, supported by the National Council of Chiefs is critical for justice, accountability, and reconciliation.
Mgcini Ncube said "Foreign actors like the Swiss Ambassador view this moment not as a chance for peace, but as an opening to exploit divisions for their own agendas. We know that the Swiss Embassy runs shadowy operations. The Ambassador holds closed-door talks with key figures in Bulawayo, Plumtree, and Gwanda, often under the pretence of “cultural exchange” or “development partnerships.” Attendees report being pressured to adopt narratives that distort the hearings’ true purpose. Meanwhile, the National Council of Chiefs, custodians of our heritage, is being targeted with promises of funding and international prestige in exchange for sidelining grassroots voices in Matabeleland. By fuelling distrust between citizens and the state, the Embassy aims to destabilize Zimbabwe’s progress toward sustainable development, undermining the pan-African prosperity envisioned in the 2030 agenda."
Ncube who was not amused by the Ambassador said they were planning a protest at the Swiss embassy if the Ambassador does not repent from his evil ways.
Taboka Muleya from Plumtree said "Switzerland’s sudden interest in Zimbabwe’s internal affairs is no accident. Historically neutral, the nation now seeks to expand its geopolitical influence in Africa, aligning with Western powers to control resources and governance. Their interference in the Gukurahundi hearings mirrors tactics used in Libya and the DRC where they divide, destabilise, and dominate."
The Swiss Embassy was once accused of funding Promise Mkhwananzi and his Tajamuka outfit and other nefarious activities of his. The embassy is known to employ a range of underhanded tactics to achieve its goals. There have been allegations that the embassy weaponizes information by funding NGOs to publish biased reports that portray the hearings as “government propaganda,” eroding public trust. It engages in economic blackmail, dangling aid and investment to pressure officials into compliance while threatening isolation if demands are ignored.
Mgcini Ncube submitted that "Most insidiously, the embassy practices cultural subversion, exploiting regional sensitivities to portray Matabeleland as “marginalised,” with the ultimate aim of polarising Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe’s 2030 vision of a middle-income economy anchored by unity, equity, and innovation is a beacon for Africa."
A political analyst John Mkandawire said "The Swiss Embassy’s meddling aligns with a broader pattern of foreign powers sabotaging African self-determination. From Francophone Africa’s coups to the Euro-American stranglehold on mineral wealth, the playbook is clear: keep Africa divided, keep Africa weak."
Mgcini Ncube said that "As Abantwana BoMzabalazo we urge all patriots to take action. Demand transparency by pressuring the government to expel diplomats who interfere in sovereign processes. Protect traditional institutions by shielding the National Council of Chiefs from foreign manipulation. Amplify grassroots voices to ensure the Gukurahundi hearings remain community-driven, not Eurocentric. Mobilize on social media under the hashtag to expose this injustice globally.
The Swiss Ambassador’s actions are a declaration of war on Zimbabwe’s right to self-determination. We will not tolerate foreign agents poisoning our quest for justice or hijacking our future.
To the Swiss Embassy: Your clandestine games end here.
To Zimbabweans: Our unity is our power. Let us defend it fiercely."
