In an agency environment, creativity gets the spotlight — but structure is what keeps the lights on.

As the Finance Manager at Red Cherry Interactive, I’m not here to clip wings. I’m here to make sure we fly straight. That means helping creative teams think smartly about costs, timelines, and outcomes without ever compromising on quality.

Efficiency isn’t about doing things faster — it’s about doing them with intention.

My daily toolkit includes:

• Real-time dashboards for tracking campaign costs and overruns
• Financial planning that speaks both creative and business
• Simplifying approval flows so teams stay focused on production, not paperwork.
• Building a culture where “on budget” and “brilliant” go hand in hand.

There’s a myth that finance slows creative teams down. I believe the opposite: when finances are clear, structured, and aligned to creative goals, teams actually move faster and with greater confidence.

I love walking that line between spreadsheets and storytelling. Because when every cent has a purpose, the impact multiplies.

Good Stories Make Better Strategy – What Media Planning Can Learn from Literature

I’ve always found comfort in books. Fiction, nonfiction, strategy, or self-help — I’m a page-turner by nature.

And what’s funny is, the more I read, the better I plan media.

Great media strategy is exactly like a good book:

• You need a compelling story.
• The right delivery method
• And perfect timing for the plot to hit home.

At Red Cherry Interactive, I lead with both data and narrative. That means studying audience behaviours, layering emotional logic over analytical insight, and choosing the right media format like an author chooses their genre.

My strategy formula:

• Who’s your audience? (Your reader)
• Where do they consume? (Your platform)
• What keeps them engaged? (Your plot twist)
• How do you want them to feel at the end? (Your brand’s final chapter)

When we helped reimagine a youth campaign, we didn’t just buy airtime — we crafted a journey, from discovery to action, that felt like a story worth following.

Trusting the Next Generation: Why Investing in Youth is Investing in Red Cherry

As we observe Youth Month in South Africa, I’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to honour the legacy of young people — not just by remembering history, but by actively building futures.

At Red Cherry Interactive, we’ve always believed that young minds hold the boldest ideas. Our legacy — now spanning over 30 years — is not just defined by our campaigns, but by the people behind them. Many of our standout creatives, producers, writers and strategists began their careers here as ambitious young professionals, eager to learn, grow and make a mark.

We didn’t just give them desks and deadlines. We gave them space to challenge us.
Trusting young talent doesn’t mean handing over everything — it means creating an environment where they are mentored, heard, and empowered to lead. It means giving them a seat at the table and the tools to shape it.

This Youth Month, I want to shine a light on the young voices within our Red Cherry family — those who keep us agile, relevant, and always curious. The energy they bring into every pitch, every studio session, and every brainstorm reminds me why we must continue to invest in them: because when young people grow, so does the business.To the youth in our offices and across the country — we see you.
