Trusting the Next Generation: Why Investing in Youth is Investing in Red Cherry
As we observe Youth Month in South Africa, I’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to honour the legacy of young people — not just by remembering history, but by actively building futures.
At Red Cherry Interactive, we’ve always believed that young minds hold the boldest ideas. Our legacy — now spanning over 30 years — is not just defined by our campaigns, but by the people behind them. Many of our standout creatives, producers, writers and strategists began their careers here as ambitious young professionals, eager to learn, grow and make a mark.
We didn’t just give them desks and deadlines. We gave them space to challenge us.
Trusting young talent doesn’t mean handing over everything — it means creating an environment where they are mentored, heard, and empowered to lead. It means giving them a seat at the table and the tools to shape it.
This Youth Month, I want to shine a light on the young voices within our Red Cherry family — those who keep us agile, relevant, and always curious. The energy they bring into every pitch, every studio session, and every brainstorm reminds me why we must continue to invest in them: because when young people grow, so does the business. To the youth in our offices and across the country — we see you. Keep pushing. Keep asking.
Keep dreaming. And to us as leaders — may we continue creating space for that growth to thrive.
