Mamusa Local Municipality was handing over the mobile library at Ikgomotseng Primary School

The Mayor of Mamusa Local Municipality attended the official handover of a mobile library at Ikgomotseng Primary School, generously donated by AVBOB.

The event was attended by the Acting Circuit Manager, officials from the District Office of Education, AVBOB management, and the Acting Principal of the school, Mrs Lesese.

As part of the donation, AVBOB also handed over an inverter, books, dictionaries for learners, and a podium for the school.

The programme further featured a spelling competition in which three learners emerged as winners and received tokens of appreciation from AVBOB in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The municipality welcomes and appreciates the contribution made by AVBOB towards promoting education and improving learning resources for the learners of Ikgomotseng Primary School.

THREE KILLED IN AMALIA CRASH

AMALIA – Three people, including two children, were killed in a devastating head-on collision in Amalia on Wednesday afternoon, while four others were left seriously injured.

The crash happened at approximately 16h50 along Buiten Street in Amalia near the R504 road, under the Mamusa Local Municipality.

According to information confirmed by Tryphosa van Rooyen, two vehicles collided head-on under circumstances that are still being investigated.

Police said one of the vehicles was transporting a driver and five passengers, while the second vehicle had only the driver inside.

A 57-year-old driver, a five-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy lost their lives as a result of the collision.

Four other occupants sustained serious injuries, including a 10-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, a 38-year-old woman and the 29-year-old driver of the second vehicle.

All injured victims were rushed to hospital in Schweizer-Reneke for medical treatment.

Police have since opened a culpable homicide case as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.

Police said it remains too early to determine whether speeding, reckless driving or alcohol played a role in the accident.

Ipelegeng Community, ANOTHER PROBLEM.

The government allocated R10 Million to the sports committee of Mamusa local municipality to upgrade, or renew the Motoro sports ground at Slovo. The money that was allocated didn't do it's duties, there is a smell of corruption by the leaders in the municipality.

The Municipality sewage truck has been seen releasing sewage into the river, polluting the stream, where school children pass everyday.
