Congratulations to the team Brand South Africa for an excellent presentation yesterday. I speak for all of us in the room when I say much of the insight into the findings of the 2026 South Africa Global Reputation Report delivered yesterday does not surprise us as the last few years have been truly unprecedented. Amazing how much is self inflicted but also how geopolitical factors have literally blown the lid off everything we thought we knew about diplomacy and ourselves. The report was expertly presented and the panel was exceptional with Cathy Mohlahlana reminding us why she has our hearts as South Africans. One can’t help but admire the stewardship of CEO Neville Matjie and the eloquent DM Kenny Morolong- you both gave evidence based anecdotal testimonies of our nation and this year more than ever before, we can’t have people speculate. Show us the data!!! Numbers speak. Loved meeting our new Ambassador to Brazil Her Excellency Madame Roleta. Well done everyone… good to see the brilliant team that flies our flag high globally (Toni, Mpumi, Jimmy, George, Masego, and absolutely everyone) ❤️🙏🏽🇿🇦

My dearest Yandi,
Congratulations on your appointment as South Africa’s Ambassador to France (nod to Gov👌🏾). Few people carry our nation’s colours with the quiet strength, intellectual rigour and unwavering integrity that have become your hallmark throughout your years of public service. You have served South Africa with diligence, grace and an unshakable ethical compass, often choosing principle over convenience and country over self. Your leadership has always reflected a deep respect for our Constitution, for public service, and for the dignity of those whom our democracy exists to serve.

As you begin this important diplomatic chapter, I have no doubt that France will come to know the remarkable woman we have long admired—one whose wisdom is matched only by her humility, whose discipline is equalled only by her humanity.
May this new season bring you every opportunity to strengthen the bonds between our two great nations & may there be many moments of witnessing your brilliance in action. You leave for Paris carrying not only the flag of South Africa, but also the confidence and affection of so many of us who have witnessed your steadfast contribution to our country’s journey. May today be a reminder of the light you carry and the glow we all feel for simply knowing you. Cancerians are inate humanitarians and you are the premium version of this. Bastille Day to my French friends, my birthday has annually been a reflective time with family and friends and yesterday was no different. What was different was that I finally understood that I am not the author, sometimes I must yield to God’s writing which exceeds anything I could fathom. Your generosity of heart, your words, your incredible messages both public and private. I am silenced🥹😭 Ngibonga ukudlula engingakusho ngomlomo wami. Few people are as intentional about building a coalition of love and peace in our world as you are. Your work with women around the world has proven not to be a vocation but a deep calling and never has a time been more opportune for us to embrace ethical, loving, smart, stoic and admirable women as now! You were born for a time such as this and I am in awe of God’s grace for gifting me you as a leader, mentor and sister. Happy birthday amazing Tonni❤️❤️❤️
