🌿 Thank You for Attending Our AGM! 🌿

We had a fantastic Annual General Meeting last week Tuesday! A huge thank you to Dr. Bool Smuts, the General Manager from the Landmark Foundation, for his insightful talk on leopards in and around the Garden Route. 🐆 We also appreciate his colleague, Monica Vaccaro, who joined us to answer questions after the formal session.

It was a great evening, well-supported by our members and guests. Thank you to the Sedgefield Island Conservancy members, who were also in attendance to support us.

If you'd like to join our conservancy or learn more about us, please email us at [email protected].

Together, we can make a difference! 🌱

On September 21st, we came together for a wonderful event—the International Coastal Cleanup day. In Sedgefield, the Cola Myoli Conservancy joined forces with the Sedgefield Island Conservancy and Revive Sedgefield to clean up our beaches.

Thank you to Our Sponsors:
Sedgefield Oasis and Paul Dougal (RE/MAX Lakes Sedgefield) : For sponsoring the water—keeping our volunteers hydrated and energized.
Great Brak River Conservancy: For the recycling bags, they played a vital role.
43 Teams, 1 Mission: Across the greater Knysna area, 43 teams rolled up their sleeves. Together, we combed the coastline, determined to make a positive impact.

Our mission, during the cleanup, separate the medical items from the rest of the debris. The police needed this as evidence for the case against the ship owners involved in the container spill.

We delivered the medical items to the police. The Knysna municipality collected the rest of the items that we collected.

In unity, we made a difference—a ripple in the vast ocean of conservation. Let’s keep our coastlines pristine and our community spirit strong!

🌿 On Tuesday 6 August, we gathered for our cherished annual Soup and Sherry evening—a heartwarming tradition that brings us closer together. 🍲🥂 This is an opportunity for the committee to thank members for their ongoing support as well as welcome new members and connect as a community.
🥣 Our dedicated committee stirred up not one, not two, but three delightful soups! The crispy fresh bread and the warming sherry were sponsored by Mario from Harcourts! His sponsorship provided the golden elixir that warmed our souls and sparked conversations. The Lion's provided us with the venue. Thank you all and cheers to community generosity!
💚 Beyond the laughter and camaraderie, we received donations which will propel our projects forward.
🙌 Thank You, Everyone! To all who joined us, laughed with us, and clinked glasses: You made this evening a resounding success. Your presence matters, and your continuous support fuels our conservation efforts.

Good morning everyone, the first two turtle hatchlings have washed ashore, one at Muizenberg and one at Plett. The latter didn't survive.

If you head down for a beach walk over the next few days, please be on the lookout for any hatchlings.

Also, if you want a break from digital life for an hour or so, head down for a beach walk and be on the lookout for turtles. - 50 Strandloper Project
