Wanneer jou moeg, moeg is

It began like any other morning at a quiet safari café — sunlight spilling across the patio, guests sipping coffee, and the sounds of birds echoing through the trees. Then the crowd fell silent. From the edge of the bush, a massive elephant appeared, walking straight toward the tables as calmly as if he owned the place.

Weighing nearly three tons, the bull approached with slow, deliberate steps. He wasn’t angry or frightened — just curious. Staff and guests stood still, watching in awe as he reached the café, gently nudged an umbrella aside, and inspected the setup. Then, in a move no one could have imagined, he began to sit down on the table.

The wood groaned under his weight. One of the umbrella’s spokes bent. And for a surreal, hilarious moment, the elephant looked perfectly content — a giant visitor taking a break from the savannah to enjoy the view.

“He just wanted a seat,” laughed Simone Ruf, who captured the scene. “He was so calm, so playful. It was like he was being cheeky.”

After a short rest, the elephant stood up again, brushed against the umbrella, and wandered back toward the trees — leaving behind laughter, a slightly broken table, and a story no one would ever forget.

“It’s his home, after all,” Simone said later. “We’re just the guests.”
