Chapter 2

Magrah walked out of the house and went to start the fire. She did all the cleaning while boiling water with fire. Her mother was sitting some men having a beer.

Mam Petty:" You guys need to add two more bottles . This beer is about to be finished"

Man 1:" You drink as if you're a cow Mam Petty. You don't even buy"(laughing)

Mam Petty:" Don't start with me Joel. You listening to music using my speakers. Of course you have to buy more beer. Or what do you think Patrick"

Patrick laughs as he shooks his head, these two has started with their nonsense when they drunk. Magrah as busy as she was, Patrick eyed her.

Patrick:" Your daughter is beautiful Mam Petty. When did she returned.?"

Mam Petty: uhu!!! She has been here a week. Apparently her man left her in debt. Her car, house and everything was taken from her."

Patrick:" Really.?"

Mam Petty:" Yee!! Now she is back. She didnt even bother buying me a braai pack. Wee , Magrah!!! Is the food ready? Me and my friends wants to eat."

Magrah:" I'm so tired Mama. And no, the food is not ready yet. "

Joel:" You're a pretty young lady, Magrah. Do you want to go home with me.?"

Everyone laughed except for Magrah who felt uncomfortable.

Mam Petty:" As long as you pay her, I dont mind. She can go home with you "(she took the last gulp."


Back in Joburg, Later that day, Anaesthesia packed her things and was about to leave her office when she received a call from Magrah

Anaesthesia:" Hey, Magrah. I was about to call you when I get home. How are you.?"

Magrah:" Eish, friend. I wish I could just die."

Anastasia:(concerned)" Why would Yuu day something like that.? What happened.?"(She sits down)

Magrah:" My own mother, wants to sell me to this old man for money. Can you believe it? My own mother!!"

Anastasia:" WHAT!!"

Magrah:" Yeah. I dont know where to run to. And I no longer have a place to stay there at Joburg. I'd pack my things and just come back"

Anastasia:(sad)" I'll send you money for taxi. You will stay with me just until Ricardo returns from oversees"

Magrah:(smiling)" Really friend.?"

Anastasia:" Yes. I wont let you suffer because of your mother. Alex done enough damage leaving you with his debts"

Magrah:(excited)" Thank you friend. I owe you big time"

Anastasia:(giggles)" Nah, you don't. We are friends. See you tomorrow.

Magrah:" Bye"(hangs up)



At Anesthesia's parents, Morongwa brought a tray that had two glasses of juice and some scones to her husband. She helped giving him a glass then sat down.

John:" I received a call from our son in law"

Morongwa:" Oh, how's New York.?"

John:" Its great too bad he's not there on vacation but on work"

Morongwa:(chuckles)" Anesthesia wouldn't let him leave alone to New York for vacation. What did he say.?"

John:" It looks like the wedding will be happening when he returns"

Morongwa: (ullulatating)" Areyeye!!!! Uwaaaah!!! He doesnt wan to waste time."

John: " apparently not. So, I'll have to call my brothers and inform them. So they can be here"

Morongwa:" Heyi. Arabang will cause problems. Please don't invite him. "

John:(laughs)" You mean him wanting too much meat will be a problem.?"

Morongwa:" Don't laugh. You know your brother how he is. "(Both laughs)

FRENEMY
Chapter 1

Anesthesia ran to the fridge and took out a bottle of water and gave her. She tries to shush her, Richmond and Ricardo walked in.

Richmond:" What's going on Magrah.?"

Anesthesia:(sighs)" The repossessed her car. I don't know why they had to embarrass her like that. In front of everyone"

Richmond: " I'll call them tomorrow and swear at them. They can't just do that."

Ricardo:" You failed to pay for it this month.?"

She embarrassly nods as she sniffs, Ricardo walked away followed by Anesthesia. Richmond was left comforting her.

Anesthesia:" My love, everything okay.?"

Ricardo:" Yes, My love!! Everything is okay. I wanted to contact Paris. He's the owner of that company. I know him very well. Perhaps he might reconsider and give your friend some time to pay the installment plan and give her back her car."

Anesthesia:" You can do that.?"(With a smile)

Ricardo:" It's the least I can do, my love. I can see you're very fond of her. And seeing her in this state actually upsets you."

Anesthesia: (leaning over for a kiss)" She means a lot to me. I just can't handle seeing her this upset "

Few weeks later, Anesthesia got off her car, an put on her sunglasses as she enters the building. She greeted everyone she passed and went straight to the elevator. Soon as she was in her office, settling in her assistant walked in with tones of files.

Anesthesia:" Be quick. I've a zoom meeting in 30 minutes"

Pertunia:" I won't be long, Ma'am. I have brought few files with me that needs your signature. Seeing that Mr Rogers isn't here to sign, you have the power to do so as well"

Anesthesia:" Leave them right here. I'll look into them after my meeting. Thank you, Pertunia. Close the door on your way out"

She nodded as she puts the files on the table and walks out closing the door. Anesthesia fixed herself in preparation for her meeting. When time arrived she went live.

Mokgobong Village, Magrah was snoring in her room when her drunk mother knocked the door out loud.

" hey wena!!! When are you going to cook.? It's daylight and you're still sleeping? You think you're still in Gauteng I see"

Magrah, irritated put on her sleeping earpods to avoid the noise. Her mother forcefully opened the door and almost fell. Put down her bottle of beer and pulled the blanket off of her .

Magrah:(Angry)" What is wrong with you.?"

Mam Petty:" What's wrong with me? No, what the hell is wrong with you.? Who's going to start the fire while you're sleeping here like a Queen? "

Magrah:" You're drunk this morning, Mama? "

Mam Petty:" Don't Tell me nonsense. I'm drinking my money. Pick your ass up and come make the fire. I'm hungry "

She walked out leaving the door wide open. Magrah's eyes formed tears, falling down as she wipes them.

*Synopsis*

On a Saturday morning, children were outside the pool playing soccer. It was a busy day, as there were many people rejoicing the engagement party of Ricardo and Anesthesia. Meanwhile Magrah, Anesthesia's friend was standing by the corner of the house sipping on a glass of wine while observing as they were complimenting her friend. She tilted her head while sarcastically smiling as she gulped all the wine from the glass and throws it. she walks towards the tent where her friend and her fiance were sitting. " congratulations, friend" she said

Anesthesia:" Oh, Thank you friend. I've been wondering where you might be"(chuckles)

Magrah:" You know me and ups and downs. I'm never on one place. "(Sits down)" I can see Ricardo is having a good time as well. I mean he's speaking to Richmond laughing and all."

Anesthesia: " Why are you so concerned"(she asks laughing)" Leave the men alone and let's have a drink.

Magrah:" Sure "(giving her an ugly eye) Have you guys decided on a date.?

Anesthesia: " Not yet!!! We still want to fix some other issues. Ricardo has a business trip to California to seal a contract. "

Magrah: " Wow, you two are moving way too forward. Don't you think you're moving too fast with this man? I mean...you hardly know him."

Anesthesia:(laughs)" I trust and believe that everything will be perfect. I mean...we do love each other after all"

She stares at her in disbelief as she shooks her head to the other side where Ricardo was dancing with his friend Richmond. She wondered why he never set eyes on her. What did Anesthesia have that she doesn't have. She saw him first, not anesthesia yet she took him from her. The thought of it just made her so angry. Her phone rang from the bag, she excused herself to answer it.

Magrah:" Hello.?"

Caller:" Hi, Am I speaking to Magrah Mokhetlo?"

Magrah:" Who's Asking.?"

Caller: " I'm calling you from the Audi Dealership. Our stuff is coming to you right now to repossess your car since you failed to pay this months installment."

Magrah: " What.? I said I'll pay you next week. I needed some time to come up with it"

Caller:" I'm so sorry, Miss. But it's the company's policy."(Hangs up)

As she shouted over the phone, a huge truck pulled over. She immediately ran outside the gate shouting"Stop" as they loaded her car.

Agent:" Miss Mokhetlo, I need you to sign here for me please."

Magrah: " I'm not signing anything. Why would you load my car.?"

Agent:" I believe you were informed about this Miss,"

Everyone was shocked by what was happening outside. Poor Magrah signed the papers and threw them on the Agent's face and walked back inside. Some were whispering about her while others felt pity. Anesthesia, stood up and followed her inside the house, finding her crying.

Anesthesia:" Magrah...!! What just happened?"

Magrah:( sniffs)" They just took my car. How am I going to get home without it.?
