There are prophesies spoken over your life: things that God has already ordained for you, favor He’s already lined up, wisemen He’s already scheduled, doors opening He’s already arranged. But it’s not going to all happen at the same place. There will be twists and turns, unexpected moves, people who walk away, things that weren’t fair. Instead of fighting change, learn to embrace change. Recognize that’s God ordering your steps. He wouldn’t be changing things if He wasn’t leading you to a place of greater blessing. You may not see it right away. There are things that don’t make sense. It seems like a setback; people coming against you. But they can’t stop your destiny. God is using them like a pawn to move you to where He wants you to be. You may not understand everything, but you can trust that God knows what He’s doing. He’ll have the wisemen show up, unexpected favor, promotion you didn’t see coming. It won’t happen anywhere. It will happen at the place where God has ordained for you to be blessed.

David had all kinds of opposition: armies trying to stop him, people slandering him, his family looked down on him. But in the middle of that, he said, “This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” His circumstances said he should be discouraged, afraid, lonely, bitter. That would have been the truth. But David made a declaration of faith. He said, “Despite the opposition, I will be happy. Despite people lying about me, I will be happy. Despite my family not believing in me, I’m going to live this day happy.”

What you’re telling yourself in difficult times will make you or break you. You may feel empty, but don’t go around announcing it. Telling everyone you’re broke, defeated, addicted, lonely, that’s not helping you. Those words are going out of your mouth and right back into your own spirit. Every time you say it, it becomes more of a reality. That’s why the Scripture says, “Let the weak say I’m strong. Let the poor say I’m well off. Let the addicted say I’m free. Let those who have gone through bad breaks say good things are in my future.” When you have the right perspective, you can stay in faith even when life is not fair. You can move forward even when you should be stuck.
