Umashi Dhlamini Testifies Today at Madlanga Commission of Inquiry Over Alleged Security Tender Rigging
Suspended Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Deputy Commissioner Umashi Dhlamini is set to testify before the of Inquiry today, Friday, facing serious allegations of tender manipulation linked to a multi-million-rand security contract.
Dhlamini, who was suspended earlier this year, is accused of irregularities in the awarding of a lucrative security tender to Gubis85 Solutions. The company allegedly received the bulk of the contract without proper evaluation or authorisation, according to evidence presented at the commission investigating widespread tender rigging within the City of Tshwane.
The Madlanga Commission is examining systemic corruption in municipal tender processes in the capital city.
Gubis85 Solutions has denied wrongdoing, stating it is available to respond to the allegations and has requested sworn statements from witnesses.
