Do you like every post you scroll past? Me neither.
That’s exactly why views — not likes, comments, or saves — have become the new social media currency. According to Instagram’s latest best practices (June 2025), views are now the top performance metric, especially for Reels and video content.
Why? Because views signal reach, and reach is the gateway to everything else. You can’t get engagement if people aren’t seeing your content first, which is why Instagram now prioritises content that captures attention, whether or not users engage traditionally.
While likes and comments still matter, they’re now supporting metrics, not the main focus. The new hierarchy looks like this:
👑 Views
⏱ Watch time
🔁 Shares & saves
❤️ Likes & comments
💡 The takeaway? It’s time to optimise for visibility. Create content that stops the scroll, sparks curiosity, and gets people watching — because if they see it, they might stick around for more.
At Ladylike, we’re ahead of the curve — crafting strategies that focus on reach first, so your brand can grow with the times and trends.
