SAMBA RANCH LAND ROW, CHIREDZI WEST ON TENSION AS EVICTION LOOMS.

Thousands of families in
Samba Ranch, Chiredzi West, faces eviction.
On Monday, District Lands Officer *Shepherd Matavire* called Samba Ranch village leaders, summoning them to the District Administrator's (DA) office in Chiredzi.
The purpose of the meeting was to officially inform them that they must vacate the Samba Ranch farm to allow *Moses Chingwena* to take back his farm following a court victory in his favor, but it was postponed to Wednesday next week.
Sources confirm that unnamed ministers were expected in Chiredzi today to preside over the process.
Our ground team has verified the following community sentiments through audios circulating on social media and direct sources:
*1. REJECTION OF SELECTIVE MEETING:* Villagers have vowed not to attend the Chiredzi meeting. They demand that ministers and lands officials come to Samba Ranch and address the entire community, not just selected leaders.
*2. OWNERSHIP DISPUTE:* Residents maintain that Samba Ranch is gazetted for resettlement and does not belong to Moses Chingwena but to a former white commercial farmer known as Bentley.
*3. LEGAL CHALLENGE IMMINENT:* The community is planning to appeal the court verdict. Their argument is that when Moses Chingwena approached the courts, no villagers were summoned to defend themselves. The judgment was delivered in their absence.
*4. LINK TO CHIWA CASE:* Villagers are demanding that the government must first deliver the verdict of the Chiwa case, which is still before the courts, before enforcing Chingwena's verdict.
*5. FEARS OF SPILLOVER:* There are fears that the evictions will not end at Samba Ranch but will spread to Wards 8, 25, and 26 of Chiredzi West.
*6. POLITICAL ALLEGATIONS:* Audios in our possession allege political victimization. Some villagers claim they are being targeted for their influence during the implementation of CAB3.
*7. SECRET MEETING AT MUZEMBI:* It has been confirmed that last Sunday, a meeting was held at Muzembi shops between Chiwa and Collin, identified as Chingwena's manager. The agenda was the relocation of Samba villagers. The meeting was leaked after they were seen together.
*8. STOPPED CLINIC PROJECT:* A clinic that was meant to be constructed in the area was reportedly stopped by Chingwena, who allegedly already knew about his court victory.
At the time of publishing, Tihlo Ra Le Hlengweni News was still seeking official comment from Lands Officer Matavire, Moses Chingwena, and the Chiredzi DA. We will update the public as soon as we get their response.
