ALERT | Under the auspices of Operation Shanela, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Tshwane successfully carried out another well-coordinated crime prevention operation in Rietgat and Soshanguve on Saturday, continuing their cooperative efforts with other law enforcement partners.
Detectives made 257 arrests during the first phase of the operation for a variety of criminal offenses, including 13 rapes, 5 murders, 7 attempted murders, 5 armed robberies, and 79 crimes related to gender-based violence.
48 undocumented foreign nationals were arrested and turned over to immigration authorities during the second phase, which was conducted by uniformed members.
