ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE UNDER INVESTIGATION IN MOKOPANE

MOKOPANE, LIMPOPO – WATERBERG DISTRICT

Police in Mokopane have launched an investigation following a reported sexual assault incident that allegedly took place in Malema View on the evening of Friday, 03 October 2025.

According to preliminary information, a 17-year-old girl was reported missing after being sent on a short errand by her aunt. The teenager was later found several days later at her mother’s place of employment in Extension 12, Mokopane.

It is alleged that she had been approached by two individuals who took her to another area, where one of them reportedly committed the assault. The suspect has not yet been taken into custody, and police investigations are ongoing.

The matter is being handled by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Mokopane. Authorities continue to follow all available leads to ensure that justice is served.

NOTICE: INTERRUPTION OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN SOME SECTIONS OF LEPHALALE TOWN AND ONVERWACHT

Residents are hereby that there is currently an interruption to the electricity supply affecting parts of Onverwacht and Lephalale Town. This disruption is a result of an accident at the Ledibeng Substation, where electrical overhead line poles were accidentally struck by a grader, causing a short circuit and tripping the transformer.

Our electrical maintenance team is mobilized and preparing to undertake the necessary repairs to restore power as swiftly and safely as possible.
Streets that are affected include: Troupant, Mahem, Arend George Avgos, Herman, Jan Lee, Vleilorie, Ellis, Berghaan and complex such as Mopani Estate, Crystal water and Silver Charm.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this interruption may cause and thank all affected residents for their understanding and patience while we work to resolve the situation.

📰 ATTEMPTED MURDER INCIDENT REPORTED IN MODIMOLLE 📰

MODIMOLLE, LIMPOPO – A man is fighting for his life after being brutally attacked in an alleged attempted murder incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 05 October 2025, near Club 2000 in Extension 4, Phagameng.

According to information at hand, the victim was walking with his girlfriend and her brother when they came across a group of women. It is alleged that an argument broke out between the women and the victim’s girlfriend but was quickly stopped, and both parties went their separate ways.

Moments later, a group of unknown males reportedly approached and attacked the victim. The attackers are said to have kicked and punched him repeatedly before smashing a beer bottle over his head, leaving him with severe injuries.

The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital but later transferred to Mankweng Hospital for further medical care due to the seriousness of his wounds.

Police investigations led to the arrest of one suspect, while another handed himself over to authorities. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this stage, and investigations are continuing.

Community members are urged to assist the police with any information that could aid in bringing the remaining suspects to book.

📰 BUSINESS ROBBERY AT HONCHOS SHOP IN MOKOPANE

LIMPOPO – WATERBERG DISTRICT – MOKOPANE

Police in Mokopane have launched a manhunt following a business robbery that occurred at Honchos Shop Number 9 on Sunday, 05 October 2025, at approximately 19h45.

According to information received, it is alleged that the complainant, a 23-year-old male employee, was in the storeroom counting stock when the incident unfolded. At the front of the shop, a female cashier was busy cleaning when two unknown men entered the premises.

One of the suspects reportedly entered the counter area and pointed a firearm at the complainant, demanding the safe’s pin code. The complainant was then instructed to open the safe; however, it was empty at the time. The suspects subsequently took an estimated R6 800 in cash from the till before fleeing the scene.

It is further alleged that the two men escaped in a white Ford Ranger, with an unknown registration number, heading south along Thabo Mbeki Drive. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Members of the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) attended the scene for evidence collection, and investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact their nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEGED CULPABLE HOMICIDE INCIDENT AT SHONGOANE 1 BRIDGE

VILLA NORA – Police in Villa Nora are investigating a case of alleged culpable homicide following a gruesome discovery made early Sunday morning, 05 October 2025, at approximately 05h15, along the R518 near Shongoane 1 Bridge.

According to information received, the police officials was as on duty when she received a report of a possible fatal accident in the area. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered the body of an unknown African male with severe injuries and body parts scattered across the tarmac.

A red VW Polo was reportedly found parked near the scene. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear at this stage, and investigations are ongoing to determine what transpired and to identify the deceased.

All relevant role players, including emergency medical personnel and forensic services, attended the scene.

📰 CAR HIJACKING INCIDENT REPORTED IN MOKOPANE

Mokopane – WATERBERG DISTRICT – MOKOPANE

Police in Mokopane have launched a manhunt following an alleged car hijacking incident that occurred on Thursday, 02 October 2025, at about 23h15 along De Klerk Street.

According to information at hand, a 32-year-old man, was driving a white Toyota Quantum when another vehicle reportedly bumped into his Quantum from behind. The complainant stopped to assess the damage, but one of the occupants from the other car allegedly approached him, pointed a firearm at him, and ordered him to lie down.

It is further alleged that the armed suspect forced the complainant into the car that had caused the collision and drove him to a nearby bush, where he was interrogated about whether the Quantum had a tracker device. The complainant could not determine the number of suspects involved or the registration number of their vehicle.

The hijacked Toyota Quantum, valued at approximately R500 000, was taken by the unknown suspects. All relevant stakeholders were informed, and investigations by the Vehicle Investigation Section (VIS) are underway.

Police urge anyone with information that could assist in tracing the suspects or locating the stolen vehicle to contact their nearest police station or call the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111.

📰 HUMAN SKULL DISCOVERED AT MANKETI GAME RESERVE

LIMPOPO – WATERBERG DISTRICT – LEPHALALE

It is alleged that the Lephalale Police have opened an enquiry docket following the discovery of a human skull at Manketiti Game Reserve on Friday, 03 October 2025, at approximately 18h00.

According to preliminary information, it is alleged that employees from LLLO Trading were clearing bushes under the Eskom power lines when they made the gruesome discovery. The matter was immediately reported to the authorities.

All relevant stakeholders allegedly attended the scene, and the skull was handed over to the Forensic Pathology Services (FPS) for further examination.

Police have confirmed that an enquiry docket was opened, and investigations are underway to determine the origin and identity of the remains.

The case remains subject to ongoing investigation.

Police Investigating Alleged R**e and Assault in Shongoane 1

LIMPOPO – The Police in Villa Nora, Waterberg District, are investigating a case of r**e and assault following an incident that allegedly took place in Shongoane 1 on Thursday, 2 October 2025, at around 12h00.

According to information received, it is alleged that the complainant was called to a local tavern by someone known to her. Upon arrival, an argument reportedly broke out, with accusations and insults exchanged.

Later the same day, as the complainant was on her way home, it is further alleged that an individual forced entry into her motor vehicle. The person is alleged to have followed her to her residence, where the complainant states she was forcefully undressed and r**ed with the use of a condom.

Investigations are ongoing.

The community is urged to allow the law to take its course while officials continue their work.
