Can you imagine this little puppy tied to a tree, sadly that was little Badgers daily life until Elaine came to her rescue and cut her loose. She was taken to the vet wherafter Elaine took care of her and medicated her at her home. Little Badgers life changed dramatically when the du Plessis family popped in to adopt her. Seen here is gorgeous Hannah and Rupert who has turns for Badger to sleep with them. Thank you for adopting this cutie, may she give you so much love and joy

Our First Ferals Have Been Trapped at the Jail 🐾

We’ve officially started tackling the feral cat overpopulation in our town!

At the crack of dawn, three ferals were trapped, sterilised, and safely released back. These are the first of many, and it feels incredible to be making progress at last.

Your support helps us stand strong for the voiceless. It’s been a busy and meaningful week at Harrismith Maluti Animal Care & Shelter:

🌟 Sophie, a well-loved dog, spent 3 days at Harrismith Animal Hospital on a drip. With lots of care and love, she’s now home and doing well again!

✂️ Today, 6 dogs and 1 cat were sterilised — helping us reduce overpopulation and improve lives.

🐶 One poor dog came in with a badly injured, painful eye. The eye had to be removed, but now this brave soul is on the road to recovery and free from suffering.

🛁 And thanks to the kindness of Monique from Muis’ Muddy Matts, one very dirty doggie got the gift of a sponsored grooming session! Fresh, clean, and feeling like a million bucks — tonight, that dog is sleeping peacefully and proudly.

🐱 Tomorrow, we begin an exciting new chapter — catching our first feral cats to kick off our Feral Cat Project. It’s a big step toward managing and protecting our town’s feral population.

This beautiful baby , Shelly, was adopted by Adelle Stone whose pets are all rescues. Shelly , her siblings and mom were found in a business yard where mom cat took her babies to protect them from the rain and cold.They are now all safe and warm at the Shelter . Thank you Adelle for giving Shelly a cosy home, enjoy your little girl
