Another Accident : 🟥 MAJOR FATAL CRASH
UPDATE: Head-On Collision – Bus vs Car on N1 North near Masekwa Brick (Louis Trichardt Area)

Incident Details:

A devastating head-on collision occurred between a passenger bus and a light motor vehicle (sedan car). The impact resulted in multiple fatalities on scene.

Confirmed fatalities:
- 8 deceased (including driver and passengers from the car, and several from the bus)
- Additional trapped patients have been extricated

Current Status:
District EMS Manager and multiple paramedic teams from Polokwane and surrounding areas are on scene. Extrication operations complete. Several injured patients have been transported to hospital for further treatment.

Road remains closed in both directions for crash investigation and cleanup. Significant traffic delays reported – motorists advised to use alternative routes or delay travel.

Early Christmas gifts for nearly 10,000 police officers in South Africa

South African Police Service(SAPS) has promoted 9548 police officers to higher ranks.

These latest promotions form part of the organisations Human Capital Strategy which aims to boost morale and the well-being of our men and women in blue.

The members who have benefited from the grade progression process are those that have been in a rank for ten years and more and the promotions are effective as of the 1st of December 2025.

The breakdown of promotions is as follows:

A total of 4605 Constable’s were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

A total of 3989 Sergeants were promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer.

Lastly, a total of 954 Warrant Officers were promoted to a higher salary notch.

Amongst those who benefited from this process include crime intelligence operatives, detectives , uniformed and support personnel.

The National Commissioner of SAPS, General Fannie Masemola says this is part of an ongoing strategic investment for the SAPS to ensure we retain skills and ensure that we nurture and develop our internal pool talent for future leadership roles within the organisation.
