Dr John Kani is a master storyteller, fearless theatre maker and cultural icon. He is receiving his flowers and being honoured by the Apartheid Museum with “John Kani: A Living Legend.”

From New Brighton in Gqeberha to the world stage and Hollywood, his extraordinary journey has amplified African stories, challenged injustice and inspired generations.

Running from 30 August – 30 November 2026, the exhibition celebrates a lifetime dedicated to storytelling, culture and legacy.
