The in-school breakfast programme—delivered in partnership with The Tiger Brands Foundation and the Department of Basic Education—continues to complement the National School Nutrition Programme for quintile 1–3 schools in the Kuruman area.
Through this collaboration, beneficiary schools receive fortified sorghum, maize, and oat porridges prepared daily by trained food handlers in upgraded kitchen facilities that prioritise hygiene and dignity. Each meal is carefully formulated to meet WHO-recommended micronutrient levels, helping address key health challenges experienced by vulnerable learners.
Principals report fewer late arrivals, stronger concentration, and improved learner morale.
