Cosmo Mall Easter Egg Hunt Brings Joy to Children
Children from Cosmo City and surrounding areas enjoyed a delightful day at Cosmo Mall on April 21, 2025, as the mall hosted a vibrant Easter Egg Hunt event. The excitement and happiness were visible on the children’s faces, making it a memorable day for all.
Event manager Jabu, representing Cosmo Mall, expressed the mall’s commitment to bringing joy to children, emphasizing that “children are the future of our nation, and making them happy is our duty.” This inspired the mall to partner with a local non-profit organization, So Loved Helping Hands, to make the day a success.
The NPO, based in Cosmo City with branches across other African countries, is committed to assisting communities wherever there is a need. Despite their clear vision and meaningful work, the organization continues to face challenges due to a lack of funding.
The event itself was a great success. Cosmo Mall brought in popular entertainer Uncle Lassie Mobile—reportedly the tallest guest ever to visit the mall—along with the Easter Bunny to delight the children. Parents who happened to visit the mall were pleasantly surprised by the festivities.
The egg hunt began around 14:30 after the children had lunch featuring treats from Debonairs Pizza and chicken meals. Each child was well-fed and full of energy. Easter eggs were hidden in stores like Sheet Street and Pep, and although the children eagerly turned over items in their excitement, store staff were understanding and supportive, allowing the children to enjoy the experience fully.
A local parent commented, “We are so blessed to have Cosmo Mall and staff who understand that the joy of our children means so much to us. We will continue to support them.”
Mall manager Jabu added that Cosmo Mall is fortunate to have such a loyal and supportive community and is committed to giving back whenever the need arises.
A spokesperson for So Loved Helping Hands appealed to the public for donations of any kind, which would help them continue their mission of supporting communities and children. They can be contacted at 083 712 1035, or via their website at www.solovedhelpinghands.co.za.
It is hoped that Cosmo Mall will continue to build strong partnerships like this one, helping to brighten the lives of children in the community.
