I lost my mom when I was 19, and it was the most traumatic loss I'd ever experienced. I went through therapy and was doing better but had issues with my dad's new fiancée.

Recently, my stepmother showed interest in my mom's necklace and asked to borrow it for her wedding. I refused, but she kept pushing until I had to hide it.

I didn't attend the wedding because my stepmother secretly disinvited me, and my father didn't say anything. On their wedding day, when I went to change the hiding place for the necklace, I found it was gone.

I CALLED OFF MY ENGAGEMENT AFTER VISITING MY FUTURE IN-LAWS' HOUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME — WHEN I SAW THEIR BEDROOM, I STARTED PLANNING MY ESCAPE.

My fiancé and I have been in a three-year relationship, but I had never had the opportunity to visit his parents. We would talk on the phone or FaceTime, so I was especially excited to spend the weekend with them.

My heart felt unbearably heavy that crisp autumn afternoon as I walked through the old cemetery, clutching a bouquet of white roses. The crunch of dry leaves under my feet broke the silence as I approached Grandpa Robert's grave. Each step made the words I needed to say harder to bear.

"I don’t want to sit next to that… woman!" Franklin nearly yelled at the flight attendant, who had escorted an older woman and informed him she would be seated next to him.
"Sir, this is her seat. We can't do anything about it," the stewardess said gently, trying to calm the businessman, who had a scowl on his face.
"That can't be true. These seats are far too expensive, and there's no way she could afford one! Just look at her clothes!" Franklin almost shouted, pointing at the older woman's attire. Stella felt ashamed.
Other passengers in business class sided with the businessman. They agreed that the woman couldn't have paid for the seat and insisted she leave. It was the most humiliating experience of Stella's life, and eventually, she gave in.

I grew up in a pretty strange household. My parents always favored my brother, treating him like the golden child for no reason. It started young and only got worse over time. Like, when my pants were too worn out to wear anymore, my mom said they couldn’t buy me new ones because they had just bought my brother a PlayStation. Yeah, that kind of thing.

One summer, I was sent to stay with my grandfather, and honestly, I was so happy there. I even asked to stay longer, and my parents were totally fine with it. But when I wanted to come back home, they told me my room had been turned into a music studio for my brother. I had nowhere to return to, so I stayed with my grandfather.

After he passed away, I was left struggling to find a place to live. My parents didn’t even bother showing up to his funeral.

Fast forward a few years, and I never thought I’d get a desperate phone call from my mom… asking me for help.👇
