Mauritius: SALT of Palmar
We spent 2 unforgettable nights at , and what a special experience it was 🌺

What makes SALT so special is how much they care - about the community, the environment, and sustainability - everything here is locally sourced and thoughtfully chosen. The fish is caught by local fishermen, the fruit and herbs grown on the island, and you won’t find imported ingredients like steak on the menu. It’s all about supporting local farmers and treading lightly on the planet.

I was treated to a private cooking class where we prepared a traditional Mauritian curry, as well sourdough baguette class with the hotel’s award-winning pastry chef. Time to explore the beautiful beach before we enjoyed a mixology class at the roof-top bar. We were then treated to an incredible six-course dinner at their new restaurant, Tek Tek which ended with a rum and vanilla infused dessert of dreams!

This morning we had a relaxing spa treatment before checking out and heading to our next stop for the trip.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, adults-only hotel that’s truly different - one that cares - this is the place!

Up at 5am and off to Cape Town International Airport
where I met before flying to Johannesburg. Here we met up with and caught our Air Mauritius flight to paradise 🏝️
After landing, we were whisked away to our first stop - the stunning . Greeted with welcome drinks and the friendliest smiles, check-in was done casually on a tablet (no front desk here!) before heading to our beautiful rooms.
We ended the evening with a special Diwali dinner — three delicious courses and my favourite cocktail, a pina colada 🍹.
Then finally, the best part after a very
long travel day, sinking into the most comfortable bed ever!
