So privileged and fortunate to do what I love, living the dream ... travelling to far-flung destinations with a great bunch of people, and ticking off another item on my bucket list ...
This time it was flying to Spain at the beginning of October then driving to Morocco as part of an all-South African media support crew and behind-the-scenes photographer for Ford Racing at Rallye du Maroc - the final round of the 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship.
Nearly three weeks and 5 000 km later, we drove from Madrid to Tarifa, crossed the Strait of Gibraltar by ferry, and travelled between Tangier, Casablanca, Fes, Ifrane and Erfoud - including staying in and touring the historic medinas (old cities), some of which date back more than 800 years. What a truly awesome experience!
It was fantastic to see so many South African crews competing internationally in W2RC (although I wish there were even more), and so special to reconnect with many of the friends from around the world that I made at the South African Safari Rally in May this year.
Thanks Gideo Basson (Red Moon Conferences & Incentives) and Nini Miko (GRIT Media UK) for the amazing opportunity!
Here's a selection of some of the images, including the convoy of media vehicles crossing the Atlas Mountains, and exploring the desert trails around Erfoud and Merzouga with a spectacular sunset ...
