Fridayfootprints - Friday 26th December 2025

Rising out of the waters of creation.. the virgin waters of our faith.

Arms reaching out in infantile joy that only a bay can have. Trusting! Imploring! Pleading.

And there at the core of His Birth, lay the reason for His presence ... A gift of Golden Grace. More valuable than anything anyone would bring Him.

Then or since!
We are confronted every day by the power of God reflected in nature around us, but seldom in the nature of mankind. Take time this Christmas season to reconnect to the reason for Christ’s presence. Feel His Spirit grow within you and be at Peace.

At peace with yourself and those around you. At peace with a world at war with itself.

Find your peace in Him and in creation and in the virgin waters of your baptism. Amen

Advent: to come (from the Latin)
He comes!
Who is He?
Lord of Lord, King of Kings. Saviour and Redeemer.

We don’t have to go anywhere!. He comes in search of us. Keep watch so that you recognise His presence.

To be in nature is the perfect time to experience the presence of God. The night sky, the pale morning light, a sunset panorama. All of these, allied to the sights and sounds of creation, are ointment for the soul in a world sickened by greed and power.

Take your time this Advent to find His Spirit in nature. Be vigilant, and your reward will be before your eyes as the Spirit strengthens your faith.

Praise Him, and He will be with you. Worship Him, and you will be blessed. Recognise Him in your life and in life around, and you will have the miracle of a gift beyond belief. Amen.

Fridayfootprints - Friday 12th December 2025

Our Advent Star in the garden is a sign that the preparations for family and friends to begin gathering is near.

The Inn is about to be filled, and the sounds of love and laughter will fill the air for the next few weeks.

Every garden should have a Bethlehem Star. A place that takes you back to the beginning. A place where you can reflect on the miracle of a Virgin Birth. A place where you, like a few poor herdsmen, will see the light of Heaven bring with it a message of the Saviour to be born.

Creation brings us closer to God. Nature brings us closer to the holiness of His presence.

Find your star. Follow it.

Sing His praises and bow before Him as the bestower of the greatest gift you will ever receive. Amen

Fridayfootprints - Friday 5th December 2025

Any view of the dawn is a reminder that the period we refer to as Advent is upon us.

To experience creation in the early morning light lends a special aura to a time of contemplation and meditation. There is a softness to the relationship we seek with God.

There is a baby-felt glow in the early morning. And it is this that strengthens the soul in the anticipation of Christ’s birth. Advent is the dawn light of faith for the soul.

Every morning of our spiritual journey is a ‘dawning’. A spiritual Advent to each day. A chance to renew our relationship with God. An opportunity to view our faith in its newborn clothes, surrounded by nature’s creatures.

There is nothing that brings us closer to God than to worship and praise God in the place He first created. Nature is His perfect place. To celebrate our relationship with the Trinity in such a perfect place, no matter where you find it, is to experience God in Eden as if we are the first made in His image. Enjoy the moment as the dawn light finds its way to the core of your being.

A Fellowship of Flowers!

A gathering of splendour with petals spread wide and pollen exposed to the world.

It is in fellowship that the opportunity arises to spread our pollen. To expose our faith and His Grace to the world.

And there, in its beauty, we stand in awe at the majesty of His miracle workings within creation and the Spirit of Man.

If our petals are not opened, and our pollen is hidden from view, then no fertilisation can take place, and His word will remain hidden, and the power of the Holy Spirit will be dampened until the faith of the world suffers in a drought of Grace.

Blossom, bloom, show His glory to the world that all may praise Him and worship Him. Amen!

Fridayfootprints - Friday 21st November 2025

How green is my valley that lies in the water of my baptism. Cups of pure holiness shine out in blinding light, bringing with it the comfort of faith.

To find solace through His creation that beckons and blossoms around us. To have hands that can reach into the soil where the roots of my faith grow. To fertilize, prune and transplant. To sow and to reap.

And above all, to find rest and stillness where His voice is a whisper in my wilderness. For more than this, I could not ask.

May the creatures of His creation gather to sing His praises as I bathe in the Grace that He showers upon me. Amen!

Fridayfootprints - Friday 14th November

To stand in awe of nature is to understand the true insignificance of mankind.

No matter the extent of our inventions and the magnitude of our ego and depravity, re remain mere specks on the scale of Creation’s universe.

The tiniest midge has the brain power to beat its wings at blinding speed. The dragonfly can hover and dart to and fro at the blink of an eye; even with its lack of brain size and access to technological advancement, it remains a more advanced ‘drone’ than its counterparts at war.

The kaleidoscope of floral splendour, the delicacy of its form and colour, the variety of birds and beasts that fill the earth, despite our efforts to destroy them, the majority have survived.

Suppose we take a moment, just a few minutes, to appreciate the complexity with which nature is imbued; we can then truly understand the greatness of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the extent to which we should value the Grace offered to us through Christ’s salvation.

We are no match for Creation. Accept it and take your place at the footstool of the Trinity and bow in supplication to our Creator.

Fridayfootprints - Friday 7th November 2025

In the dying ..nature wears Heaven’s crown.

And in ‘Flanders Fields”, Poppy petals have been replaced by grotesque shapes of twisted metal, crumbled concrete, and ravished landscapes as if in some depraved modern art version of the ‘Rememberance'.

Across the world, devastation makes up the statue to our “Flanders Field commitment to remember them. And the cause they died for. A fight against Tyranny. A fight against the bullies of the world. A fight against ego.

Our news channels are full of the monstrosities of our war-ravaged vistas. So how do we remember them? If ever there was to be evidence of the effectiveness of our Christian testimony, all we have to do is look around us.

And pray!

Pray for the strength to wear Kingdom’s crown. To pray for the strength and the will to ‘Remember’ them and their cause. To take a stand against the egos of the world and to be a mirror of His Grace, Peace and Understanding.

Place yourself in a Flanders Field and hope you are not forgotten because you do not lie there alone. Remember them not only on 11 November but every day as you tend to the gardens in your own Flanders Fields. Amen

Fridayfootprints - Friday 31st October 2025

Fellowship. One word! One word that brings with it a connection that is at the core of our human existence.

Fellowship with humanity is not about idle chatter. Rather, it is the exploration of the very character of the soul we are engaging with. It is the foundation to understanding what makes our fellow human beings tick. How they feel. Their sadness and their joy. Their trials and their triumphs. Sometimes, fellowship is not just about words; it is about presence. The understanding that even in our silence, our souls speak to one another.

And then there is our fellowship with God.

A fellowship in Prayer, Praise and Worship that form part of the cornerstone of our Faith. But it is in our fellowship with the Holy Spirit that we start to truly discover what fellowship and the presence of God is all about.

Those moments when we know, no matter how badly we express ourselves, that He really understands us. And then there are the times when, in our stillness, we feel and hear His presence deep within us. A feeling of absolute peace descends upon us in a ‘snuggle’ moment with the Trinity.

Truly then ... Fellowship is food for the soul. Feed with open mouths! Without it we are unfed and starving. Empty shells where even our ego can only listen to its own echo.

Fridayfootprints-Friday24th October 2025

No matter how skilled the artist, or in modern times, the programmer, photo editor, and the like, they will only produce imitations of creation.

As we ponder on the proliferation of fake news and Artificial Intelligence that threatens to consume the very world we live in, the question has to be, when will someone produce a replica God? An AI version of the real thing!

And no matter how close they come, and no matter how attractive the image may be, and no matter how many people are sucked in to the false narrative of fake news ... God will remain God. There will never be another version of Him .. for better or worse!

No matter how we fool ourselves with fancy churches, lights and sound effects, God remains in His creation. A place where we can connect with Him and discover the unmanipulated version of who He is.

Let the Holy Spirit be who He is supposed to be as the wind and the fire of our faith. May we be filled with His Spirit, thanks to the Grace of our Lord and Saviour. Amen

As nature gathers to feed on the fruits gifted by creation ...

Is this not a reminder that the fruits of the Spirit are there for our sustenance to be used to the Glorification of God?

Dwell with the Lord of Lords, may He dwell in you as the Spirit moves to bless you with gifts that bear fruit. Fruits needed by humanity on the journey each of us has been assigned.

May your footprints on the road you travel be the evidence and testimony of His fruits.

The Holy Spirit blesses you with gifts to bear fruit for the world and bring peace. A peace that is evident in the spirit of nature as it feeds on what creation has to offer.

We must feed in fellowship with nature and sit at His table laden with Gifts,

Amen!

Fridayfootprints - Friday 10th October 2025

There are roads to be travelled. Veins that carry the lifeblood of our faith.

Memory roads that wander through the landscape of our existence as we journey back to places and relive times gone by.

And then there are rivers! No longer bubbling streams eager in their youth, but rather lazy rivers that meander slowly and powerfully, filled with promise.

Roads and rivers meet from time to time. Sometimes the path across is easy, over bridges, and sometimes we just need to get our feet wet and wade through the powerful currents.

Rivers and roads fill the Eden of our wilderness’ that we traverse, where we can experience God and all His Grace has to offer. But we cannot avoid the roads and the rivers in our lives. They are the veins that supply the heart of our Faith. Let His Spirit flow with the blood that pulses through us and experience all that creation has to offer.
