I used to be intimidated by editing photos in black and white. Without color, I was afraid the eye wouldn’t know where to land, and that all the softness and warmth I wanted people to feel in my work would disappear. After playing around with tones and balances, growing in my confidence and style, I think I have fallen in love with its beauty in a way I can’t with a color photograph. A black and white image done right will slow everything down. It pulls your focus to the emotion or the movement, where the light lands. When I edit a photograph in black and white, I want it to be intentional, an artistic choice rather than a duplicate of an image, to allow less to be more.

When C&H asked me if I would be open to starting our shoot at home with their pups, it was an immediate yes! I just love having pets join in capturing these significant life seasons. They are so much a part of our love stories 🫶🏽

It’s been my busiest month yet! How wonderful it is to be meeting so many new people and have the chance to document their love stories. With that, there are so many beautiful galleries I am working on at the moment. So, I am emerging from my editing cave to post a current fave: this quiet, in-between moment, when time slows down and forever sinks sweetly in.
