Zim Breaking News : The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has issued a statement reminding certain vehicle owners and drivers that they are required to pay a fixed monthly tax called Presumptive Tax.
This applies to vehicles utilized for carrying passengers or goods for business purposes, including kombis, taxis, driving schools, and trucks.
The monthly tax rates in USD are as follows: Kombis (8–14 passengers): $50, Kombis (15–24 passengers): $60, Kombis (25–36 passengers): $80, Kombis (37+ passengers): $100, Taxi-cabs (up to 7 passengers): $35, Driving schools (Class 4): $50, Driving schools (Class 1 & 2): $100, Trucks (10–20 tonnes): $200, Trucks (above 20 tonnes): $500, Small trucks (10 tonnes or less but pulling trailers totalling 15–20 tonnes): $500.
Important notes: Payment of this tax is a prerequisite for obtaining a license, the tax can be paid in local currency at the day’s official exchange rate, and this tax only applies to vehicles used for carrying passengers or goods for business or hire.
