The ownership of Radio Riverside remains controlled by a non-profit entity and non-political entity. Control of Radio Riverside is vested in the control body of Radio Riverside Community Forum. Radio Riverside established and maintained formal structures which facilitate the participation of the community in the control, management, operational and programming aspects of the broadcasting service.

The profits and any other income of Radio Riverside are applied to the promotion of its broadcasting activities and or in the service of its community

BREAKING NEWS: Police Urge Calm Amid Attempted Looting in Louisvale's Skielik Informal Settlement

Upington police have called on parents and community members in the Skielik informal settlement, Louisvale, just outside Upington, to urge children to refrain from participating in attempts to loot shops owned by foreign nationals.

According to the police, members of the South African Police Service, including the Public Order Policing Unit, were deployed to the area to maintain law and order following incidents of unrest this afternoon.

Brigadier Peet Coetzee appealed for calm and urged residents to resolve concerns through lawful channels.

He called on parents to ensure that children do not become involved in criminal activities and warned that those found breaking the law could face legal consequences.

📻 RADIO RIVERSIDE LEARNERSHIP AUDITIONS UPDATE

Radio Riverside successfully concluded five days of auditions for the 2026/27 Radio Production Learnership Programme between 11 and 17 July 2026 in Upington.

We received close to 250 applications and would like to thank everyone who took the time to apply.

The outcomes of the audition process are as follows:

• 200 applicants were shortlisted for auditions.
• 188 candidates arrived on their scheduled audition days.
• 146 candidates completed and participated in the audition process.
• 42 candidates registered but did not proceed with their auditions.

After a highly competitive selection process, 20 candidates have been chosen to participate in the programme.

Successful candidates are contacted between today and tomorrow. If you do not receive a call from us by the end of tomorrow, please consider your application unsuccessful on this occasion. We encourage you to apply again in future opportunities.

Please note that if we are unable to reach a successful candidate, or if calls are not answered by tomorrow, we will proceed to the next candidate on the reserve list.
